ABC Commits To SF&F Shows
ABC announced on May 15 that it has picked up the supernatural series Pushing Daisies, Eli Stone and Cavemen for the fall television season. The network also renewed the ongoing series Lost for a fourth season, but will not begin airing it until midseason.
From Bryan Fuller (Heroes) and Barry Sonnenfeld (Men in Black), Pushing Daisies is described as a "forensic fairy tale" which blends romance, crime procedural and fantasy. Lee Pace (Wonderfalls) stars as Ned, a young man who can touch dead things and bring them back to life. Ned puts his ability to good use, not only touching dead fruit and making it ripe with everlasting flavor, but working with an investigator to crack murder cases by asking the deceased to name their killers. But the tale gets complicated when Ned brings his childhood sweetheart, Chuck (Anna Friel), back from the dead and keeps her alive. Chuck encourages him to use his power to help others, instead of merely solving mysteries and collecting the rewards. Life would be perfect for Ned and Chuck, except that if he ever touches her again, she'll die for good. The cast also includes Chi McBride, Swoosie Kurtz, Kristin Chenoweth and Jim Dale as the narrator.
Eli Stone stars Jonny Lee Miller (Aeon Flux) as a successful San Francisco lawyer who starts experiencing a series of odd hallucinations. As he seeks to find a deeper meaning to life, he struggles to keep his job and his girlfriend, the boss' daughter. When Eli discovers an aneurysm in his brain, he wonders if his condition is truly medical or if perhaps he now has a higher calling. Victor Garber, Natasha Henstridge and Loretta Devine also star.
Cavemen is a comedy inspired by a series of Geico Insurance commercials. It looks at life through the eyes of three modern cavemen as they struggle to find their place in the world. Joel (Bill English), his cynical best friend Nick (Nick Kroll) and easy-going little brother, Jamie (Dash Mihok), are contemporary cavemen who live in the suburban south and simply want to be treated like ordinary 30-something guys. Despite their attempts at assimilation, Nick doesn’t believe mainstream society will ever completely accept them, Jamie seems to take it all in stride and Joel straddles the middle, torn between his friends, his more traditional values and his loving fiancee (Kaitlin Doubleday).
Fox, meanwhile, picked up The Sarah Connor Chronicles, based on the Terminator movies, and New Amsterdam, about a New York detective who is immortal.
NBC ordered up The Bionic Woman, an update of the 1970s SF show, from Battlestar Galactica executive producer David Eick; Journeyman, about a time-traveling journalist; and Chuck, about a young computer whiz who becomes a government agent after espionage secrets are downloaded into his brain, the Reuters news service reported.
New Amsterdam, Journeyman and The Sarah Conner Chronicles sound good but the others sound "meh" from the descriptions.
Any news on current shows? If Jericho does not get renewed, kenny you will be able to hear my wife scream all the way down in LA
LOL... CBS announces there shows tomorrow... I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
They better bring Jericho back.. I just gotta see what happens! :)
I'll try Bionic Woman. I've been curious since I heard that BSG producer David Eick was the one behind it. I just watched the preview on NBC.com and it looks good.

I have sad news my friends.... Jericho has been cancelled. :jawdrop :old_bash: :unsure
This is why I hate watching TV sometimes. Now I can add Jericho to the list of unresolved Cliffhangers like Threshold, Invasion and Surface last year.
Now I'm depressed!!!!!!
Man, that was a great show. It got a lot better the last few weeks.
I wish they would do a wrap up or something... argh....
Oh well.
How would you have liked it to end?
This just really, REALLY torques me. I was not a huge fan of Jericho but it was a show that was getting better. It was also a show that competed directly against American Idol if I remember correctly.....so instead of, oh I don't know, maybe trying it on another night, they just cancel it.....but God forbid they cancel "The Amazing Race" or the frakkin "Ghost Whisperer".....no cancel the show that actually shows promise.....oh yeah and why don't ya leave us with a cliffhangar....AGAIN!
I'm bitter. I think I could run a TV network better than some of the goofs that ruin....I mean RUN them now.
Here is the only new SF & F show from CBS
Moonlight Gets Green Light From CBS
The vampire-themed pilot Moonlight (formerly known as Twilight) has received a series order from CBS for the fall television season, the network announced. The series stars Alex O'Loughlin (The Invisible) as a brooding private investigator who happens to be a vampire. It's not known whether he will also have an ex-girlfriend named Buffy.
Moonlight is set to air on Fridays at 8 p.m. ET/PT following the newly renewed Ghost Whisperer.
And here is CW's only new SF & F show.
CW Gives Reaper A Go
The CW has picked up the supernatural series Reaper for the fall television season, Variety reported. The network also announced that it has renewed Smallville and Supernatural for another year.
Reaper is described as a comedic drama starring Bret Harrison as the devil's 20-something bounty hunter. The pilot, a co-production with the Mark Gordon Co., was written by Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters and directed by Kevin Smith.
Reaper and Moonlight both sound interesting....assuming they are done right. I like Kevin Smith so I will definitely give Reaper a go....if I can just figure out which channel is CW....it seems to change names with the changing of the seasons
Well CW use to be WB and UPN.. but they combined last year.
Yeah I know....I just have to figure out which channel number here was "victorious" during the merger
oic.. in LA it stayed on the WB channel 5
I think here in Spokane too....channel 22.
Anyway I finally worked up the nerve to tell my other half about Jericho......WOOOOOO Doggie was she hot....First Surface, now Jericho....she basically said that any new network show can kiss her......well she was mad.
Jericho cancelled???
KHAN! KHAAAAANNN!
I think no more TV! Lost only. Nothing else!!!!!111!1!11!!!!

Ok, that really sucks. I think the reason it failed is due to a bad time slot and the fact that shows like Lost were ticking ppl off because they weren't revealing a heck of a lot.
Ok, I tried to watch Cavemen......but I immediately stopped my internet after 5mins. This show simply sucks. It has NO original content. They are just trying to have guys who have big beards and crud make jokes like every other comedy show. What really rips at me is that the bring in the this whole other "race" thing. It would be no differnet if you put black guys, no offense, in the same roles. Its just this whole: "I won't get this job because I'm a caveman." lets see it from the black perspective. "I can't get this job because I'm a black guy" sound familiar??!! Its all BS. ABC, drop this show like you drop a bomb. (not literaly). I give this 0 out of 10 stars. I don't hand these out often, but because this show is just all-around stupid and unoriginal it got it.
If you guys like it though, go ahead and keep watching, but for me, I'm not going to continue watching this show. Just a waste of time.

I just discovered Surface. Pretty good.
Unresolved ending, oh well...that's TV.
