I figure I would start a thread for everyone to discuss season three.
I'm glad to see some of you got the hint and simmed your character into the hall for the ceremony.
I have posted the first half of the ceremony and Jen and I are currently working on part two. I hope to get this posted in the next day or so.
After that post I will dismiss the crew and you guys are on your own. This is the perfect time to get some character building time in. If you can't figure out what to have your character do, please PM Jen or I and will be happy to help you out.
You guys can team up to write about your characters' shared adventures during shore leave. We encourage you to chat in the chat room about your plans or PM each other. PM us if you want to discuss any possibilities with Sevryll or Quinn. Everyone participating in the RPG is very easy going, so don't worry if you've never PM'd a particular person.
OK, I am posting the first missive from Vearne. Keep in mind he is militantly anti-militant - a dichotomy he is not very clear about yet.
The post is framed as an opinion piece for a pretty left-leaning (radically left) newspaper, so if you have any issues with it other than it being what I just described, please let me know.

Great first post Locutus. Bet the El-Aurians would have something interesting to say regarding "making peace with the Borg". I wonder how Guinnan would react to that article?
hehe. I assume that everyone's characters could read that article while they are on shore leave, and when they get back, actively avoid Vearne, or treat him badly. My character arc is that, during a peaceful diplomatic mission, he sees how it all goes so wrong, and by the end of the arc, while not being completely OK with violence, he is able to reconsider his opinion of Starfleet.
Yeah Aeric isn't one for peace. At times I think he can be more militant than an enraged klingon. It's one thing to have your people exterminated by another species, but it's another when your long lived people are assimilated and for the next seven centuries or so help their once enemies to assimilate countless more. However Aeric wouldn't care one way or another about the op-ed piece because it's freedom like that he is fighting to protect.
I applaud your pov. It does seem sometimes that the people yelling "Freedom" the loudest are the ones trying to stifle the kinds of freedom they don't agree with. My character is not trying to rile up anyone per se, he just has very strong, if at times naive, feelings about violence.

Season Three will end on Friday. Look for Sevryll recall of the crew tomorrow, and then please post about your character's return to the ship and preparation for departure. We don't want to leave you behind on Earth. ;)
