Here's a question... we commonly use abbreviations when we talk Trek.
* DS9: Deep Space Nine
* ENT: Enterprise
* TAS: The Animated Series
* TNG: The Next Generation
* TOS: The Original Series
* VOY: Voyager
What do you call this new Star Trek Cast?
The New Original Series? TNOS
Star Trek: Reboot? STR
Suggestions?
The abbreviations are all for TV series, while this is a movie. I've just been referring to it as Star Trek XI. However; On a couple of the sci-fi model forums that I frequent, the new Enterprise has taken on the name "JJ-Prise". Perhaps "STJJ"? "The JJ-Verse"? ;)
I like STNS Star trek new stories
Or NMS - New Movie Series

Sorry that was suppose to be Star Trek CAST.. not movie.
Or we could Do
ATS: Alternate Timeline Saga
TAU: The Alternate Universe
TAT: The Alternate Timeline
TAR: The Alternate Reality
Yeah, I'm going to throw Star Trek: TAU into the ring for consideration. I like the way it sounds.
ALT Trek?
TAT (The Alternate Trek)
WTH (What the Heck?)
TDW (They Did What?)
Lost Trek
Clover Trek

TAT (The Alternate Trek)
This one might be popular with hardcore UK fans that didn't like the movie! :roflmao
(I think only us UK'ers will get this...)
ST:POP for popular ;)
or simply poptrek.
Star Trek - New, as in New Trek! Like new coke.
So what's the official abbreviation for Treks in Sci Fi?
TSF
TrekSF
TinSF
TISF
Rico, the world must know!
I've always used just TSF.

You sure you want to go there? We ... well those of us old enough .. all know what happened with New coke.
For those who don't like it..

Yeah...luckily the movie seems to have received a much better welcome...lol.
I think we only have new coke over here. Forgotten what old coke tasted like...
Old coke tasted like cocaine! ;)
Doesn't seem like New Coke ever reached Europe. You probably still drink Coke classic. (Which is probably different from US coke, they replaced cane sugar with HFCS as the 'reintroduced' the 'original' coke after the New Coke debacle.)
Toon Trek- Because of the silly Buzzlightyear Warp Engines which look ridiculously out of place! >:(
And for Simon Pegg fans and our friends across the pond:
Shaun of the Trek-
Hot Trek-
But my favorite one right now is:
A*D*D*TREK :biggrin
Attention Deficit Disorder Trek! :cheering
It is so appropriate, fire, explosions, frantic pacing (so you won't notice all of the holes in the story), shaky cam shots, a car chase with rock music, eye candy and fight scenes... Everything a culture with short attention spans could want! :thumbsup
So, do I win? ;)

Props from me! I loved the movie but everything you said is true. :)
