Title: Monk - "Mr. Monk and the UFO"
Post by: Zarabeth32 on March 28, 2011, 03:00:50 PM
Haven't seen anything recently posted about Monk so I thought I would start. I love Monk and it was sad when they ended after 8 years. Being a psych major years ago, it was wonderful to see Tony Shahloub be brave and show all the mannerisms of OCD (or at least most of them). I loved Sharona and Natalie as his sidekicks. Both had their own quirks.

They did a great space episode called "Mr. Monk and the UFO." It so reminded me of Kirk fighting with the Gorn because of where they shot it (along with other Star Trek episodes). They probably used the same area as Star Trek. It just cracks me up because all these people come from all around and believe that Monk is an alien because he won't show them his belly button. Great episode. I love the beginning where he wakes up at the hotel and goes to the window and thinks he sees aliens far away. He goes back to bed and then he gets up all over again and then looks out the window and they are standing right outside his window.

If you haven't seen Monk, definitely give it a chance, especially this episode!

My dad was a huge Columbo fan, I remember watching them with him when I was little and my dad doing impersonations of Peter Falk all through the shows.  I was sad to see that he died.
