Yes those in the Detroit area can see The Wrath of Khan in 70mm format on the big screen!
The Redford Theater http://redfordtheatre.com/movie/ (http://redfordtheatre.com/movie/) will be showing it for two days, July 22 and 23rd.
I plan to catch the July 23rd at 2PM showing.
It would be cool to check it out again on the big screen. I'm jealous! :)
OH YEAH!!! Mark mentioned this to me the other day. So going to be there!!!
P.S. We are also going to see a Three Stooges festival there this coming Saturday too.
So many epic scenes in the film; especially the entire Mutara Nebula sequence. Even today, it stands as my all-time favorite depiction of a space-battle. I love Star Wars, and the Death Star trench sequence was great, but there was something special about watching the Enterprise & Reliant slug it out. The way the external & "in-ship" sequences were woven together with the soundtrack was almost poetic.
Such a cool movie.
Seeing this on the big screen would be soooo sweet! :)
SPOILER ALERT-Battle of the Mutara Nebula (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jzXxJOFJ6HQ#)
That would be so cool to see at a theater again. Our local theater here is playing Gone With The Wind. They should play a Star Trek movie instead. Any of them!!
i wish i lived in detroit....
I got to see it not too long ago and it was tremendous on the big screen.

Don't we all! ;)
LOL! No, not really. Very happy with the weirdness that is Boston. :)
But I will admit that the commercial had me tempted ... for .00042 milliseconds. But tempted non the less.
I like the airport in Detroit, that's about the only place I've ever been in the city! There's a cool monorail thing and a fancy fountain.
Boy I remember seeing the premiere on the big screen when I was in the Air Force. I was just so overjoyed that it was so good. I still like The Motion Picture, but this was just so much better on every level. Oh and then
Spock died
and I was devastated. ( I hope that is not a spoiler!).
Almost makes me want to drive up to Detroit to see it!
Can you have spoilers for a story that old? :D
Well I would hope it's not a spoiler for anyone on this board... but you never know.
Kirk pawns the glasses he gets in this movie at a pawn shop 1980's San Fransisco in Star Trek 4!

He got better!
Thanks Billybob, I didn't know about that tag.
Ah yes the handy-dandy spoiler tag.
i cried the first time i saw it, i'm ashamed to say.

another question is if those cut scenes are on youtube... ;)
You might be able to find the cut scenes on YouTube.
Went to the Redford theater today with Mark and his finacee to see a Three Stooges marathon of short films (six in all). Was a lot of fun with a packed theater. Can't wait to see Khan there in a few months. :)
Hope they show it at cinemas in england.
