As Bryan can attest, Arizona is not the best place to be during the summer if you don't like creepy crawlies. Where Joyce and I live we have a major battle with scorpions every summer, it's not unusual for me to find and kill 3 a night. But last night...man. So, as I was chatting with Rick Moyer on Skype, I told him about our battles and that next time I go out, I'll video my hunt with our black light scorpion hunter...what I found was a record 6 battles for me. And me with one arm barely working! :mad2:

Yikes! Yeah, we get maybe 2-3 in the house every summer. I found one in the garage a few weeks ago in the morning but he was almost dead, our Orkin guy does a good job. But some homes and areas have huge infestations. I have posted here on the forum over the years pics of the Giant Hairy scorpions I have pulled dead out of my poolt. Those suckers are over 6" long! I have been stung once on the back of the leg, it wasn't a big deal.
I'm not really too concerned about being stung, figure its probably like a bad bee sting, but Joyce is allergic to bees, and we have a small dog (10 pounds). I'm concerned that either of them will be in trouble if they get stung. Plus, the little ickies just look unnatural! :)
Dog's will be fine assuming they don't have a strong hystamine reaction. Now rattlesnakes, that's different....
we had bees in our attic last summer. haven't had anything since, though before i was born there were squirrels crawling insida the walls, so i hear. we still have a trap set up with some peanut butter (who knows how long it's been there...) ;)
never seen a scorpion outside of a zoo. the guy on Survivor Man says to pick them up by the tail.
Turtle...better idea...DON'T PICK THEM UP! :) Notice that SurvivorMan is not on anymore?? :)
...right... :D
