LOL! Well, if the USA had a product to sell, I think it would be a better business. All things considered, we could be Greece. As far as nations go, I think we're doing pretty good. We're still #1 with the International Monetary Fund, World Bank, and some other stuff.
We might have issues, but let's remember the perspective. USA isn't a for profit entity.
What's really telling about these big corps is their range! I have the same energy provider as some of our friends across the pond, National Grid

I think its a mistaken idea that we think Business people can run the country better than the politicians, we simply aren't designed for it as a nation. The President is not the CEO of our country.

That and if it was a business, our product would be our population. If our product was our population, then we'd have to take much better care of it if we want to turn a profit as a business. We'd have to make sure that we have a great warranty for said product (health, employment, and happiness) to make money (taxes). To do that we'd need a much better factory than we have (education system) and a better means of handling the return of flawed product (corrections system). We'd also need to make sure that we weren't constantly giving away our product at a loss (Global peace keeping mission).
If anyone wanted to run the country like a business then they would need to make sure that we had the best product in the world and I don't see any businessman wanting to take the loss and anger of having to rebuild the entire system to do so.
well it makes sense. the US doesn't have a product to sell, and apple does, so yea. it makes sense. i was going to say "sweet" but now i think this is a "wow" kind of moment.

:offtopic Ironically, National Grid doesn't directly supply anybody over here. As a privatised part of the old Central Electricity Generating Board, they're responsible for the high-voltage electricity (and now gas) distribution networks with direct to consumer sales being handled by what used to be the regional electricity boards.

mind you it dont stop the suppliers putting our gas and electric up by 18% every year and sometimes twice a year.
