Andrew and I did the marathon of Caprica.  The last five episodes were in my opinion ....

AWESOME!

If they had only been that way for the others I think we would have seen more seasons.

OK SPOILER

the Cylon graphics were awesome, we got to see space ships, cool computer stuff and more.  EXCELLENT.   And the story really picked up.

I only had one major complaint on this series.  I thought they did some pretty horrid stereotyping of religion.  But that is a different discussion.

What did you think of the "next season" preview.....the season that will now never be?

Vartok

Episodes 14-18 now up on Hulu for your viewing pleasure.  Some big action in there.

I finally am working my way through the last episodes.  Only have one episode left to go.  But something kind of big happened in the second to last episode near the end.  Makes me anxious to watch the last one.  Hopefully tonight.  Really too bad this series didn't get a chance to go further.

I know, the last six episodes were the best out of all of them.  It is too bad.

My DVR got interrupted, so I missed part of the 2nd to last episode.  Can someone answer this question?
When Graystone's XO held the cops at gun-point while Graystone & wife made their escape - what happened to the guy holding the gun?
What you describe is at the start of the last episode...
They don't show what happens to Daniel's XO.
Summing up my thoughts on the last episode...
So the Willie we saw through the series was not "our" Bill Adama from BSG - they had another son.  A bit tricky but that works ok for me.  The last episode was pretty powerful stuff.  Lots of interesting events take place.  Of course it seemed a bit rushed, but I like the ideas they were trying to put out there.  Going to miss this series.
The show really grew on me.  The 'final 5' episodes really picked up the pace.  I was indifferent to the show before that, but watched out of obligation.  Thankfully the up and coming show sounds like it will be better - I think they learned their lesson about trying to pull in a new demographic.

Caprica Ep. 10 will finally air on Sky 1 in the UK on May 16. I assume the rest of the back half of the show will follow.

I guess I'll watch since it appears to be better than the first half season. Given that I already know it's over, however, my motivation isn't that high.

I know it's unnusual here but I don't have a podcast of my own.

Yeah; I hear you man.

I'm a SUPER BSG fan, but I've kind of fallen out of love with Caprica.  One of these days, I'll check out the last few episodes.

One of these days.

If only they had that same pacing as the last shows for the start of the series - we would still have this show.  I 'get' what they were trying to do by appealing to different types of viewers - but I think that didn't work at all.

Aargh! Now I'm halfway through the back half, I really, really wish this was coming back. The first half did very little to appeal to me but now we're getting into the meat of it and I'm starting to enjoy it. If the last four are this good then I'm going to regret the loss of this show. (I could still do without the first twelve episodes or so but at least I now understand what it was all setting up.)

Yes indeed - they were just starting to find their pace when the carpet got pulled.  Oh well.  Hopefully Blood & Chrome will learn from this experience.

The irony is that they seem to have got going just a little sooner than SGU did (in episode count terms) and still got canned a full season earlier.
