Anomaly of Jayne's Town
He's always meant well while he's going to Hell...
In this edition of Anomaly, Jen and Angela talk about Firefly: Jayne's Town–the episode where Jayne gets a song, a mud statue and a crappy town full of adoring followers. Included in this installment are episode clips, the song: It's Good to Have Jayne on Your Side, sung by Marian Call (the female patron saint of Anomaly) and Sue's Dragon*Con panel schedule (if you're going, stop by and say "hi"). Please send your feedback to girlygeekz at gmail dot com, visit the contact page on our web site: http://www.anomalypodcast.com, use the built-in audio recorder on the site or call our voice mail line. In our show notes you can find a link to Marian Call's web site and the song played, links to the podcasts promoted in this episode, a link to Sue's Dragon*Con schedule, subscription information, social media and blog links the Anomaly newsletter, our bios and much more.

BTW, we just released an interview that All Things Trek did. They interviewed us on their show back in August and let us play it on our show this month. It's a MONSTER. Almost 2 hours as compared to our regular 40-45 minute episodes. :) But we got to talk alot about why we are Trek fans, what our favorite characters and televisions series are, and we admit that we are Picard-Crusher Shippers. I hope you'll check it out and then head over to allthingstrek.com and subscribe to their show as well. Oren is a very smart guy and a HUGE Trek fan.

Thanks again to Rick Moyer for the Anomaly- Mah-na Mah-na Song! :D I've been waiting for an opportunity to play it again. Let us know what you think of our show! Email us at girlygeekz at gmail dot come, rate us on iTunes or join our Anomaly Group page on Facebook. We, unfortunately, abandoned our forum. Our listeners are not forum people...they're Facebook people. So it was hard to get them to come by. :)

Speaking of coming by! Angela, Kasey and I will be at Austin Comic Con. We will have a booth in the Fan Group section so if you're going to the con, please come by and say "hello"!

Here's a link to our show notes where you'll find the episode. Feel free to stream or download. There are also subscription and sharing links. Share the show with your friends if you like it.

THis was such a fun episode, just loved it!  Of course I'm a huge fan of TNG, so it was cool.  I want to go to the convention for my birthday!  LOL!

Hi everyone! I just posted our Video Report from Austin Comic Con. You can find us on iTunes and Stitcher Radio (but you can't watch videos on Stitcher) so you can go with the iTunes, Blackberry or Zune stores or stream the video in our show notes: http://www.anomalypodcast.com/shownotes/anomaly-video-report-austin-comic-con-2012/

There are links to the podcasts we mentioned in our show (Trek SF among others) as well as some AWESOME costume/fan clubs and projects.

If you like our reports, we have another one coming in a couple of weeks. Angela and I are headed to The Texas Renaissance Festival on Friday. We'll be there the 16th, 17th and 18th. You'll find our video report from last years' Festival in our feed. We always have a blast and take a BILLION photos. We hope you'll check those videos out.

If you like our show, please rate us on iTunes, Zune, Blackberry and Stitcher. And if you REALLY like us, share our show with your friends...spread the word. :)

We'd LOVE to hear from you. Email us at girlygeekz(at)gmail.com
or call 432-363-4742 and leave us a comment.

Hi Jen, are you going to be doing anything special for the last Wheel of Time book?  I think that is out next month.

We will do a review of the book after we've read it. We're planning a roundtable discussion with some of our friends. :)  I'm excited to read it.

Kasey and I met Chris-Rachael Oseland at Austin Comic Con. She's the Technology and Geek Life reporter at the Austin Post. She also happens to be an up and coming indie-writer. You can find all her books here on her Amazon.com page. http://www.amazon.com/Chris-Rachael-Oseland/e/B008BM0P9U/ref=ntt_athr_dp_pel_1

Chris-Rachael is also a foodie and a sci-fi/fantasy geek. Her most popular book thus far is "Steamdrunks: 101 Steampunk Cocktails and Mixed Drinks" and her latest release promises to be even bigger: "Dining with the Doctor: the Unauthorized Whovian Cookbook". Chris-Rachael was very excited to tell us that Think Geek recently picked up the book and will be selling in their online store. In our interview, she talks about a few of the recipes, talks about her interest in Doctor Who and gives tips on becoming a writer.

Her other works include a children's book called "Counting with Tesla", a collection of short stories called "The Eyes Have it" and for vampire fans: "The Unauthorized True Blood Drinking Guide".
