Don't worry, this is spoiler free.

Wow.  I really enjoyed Stargate Atlantis last night.  It was called ARK.

The sets were amazing, and the special effects were the best I have seen on that show.

I am wondering if they filmed on a set that had already been used, because it was massive elaborate.

Great show, very back to your basics science fiction.

What did you all think of it?

<slightly spoilerish, maybe>
Liked it alot. I really enjoy when they explore ideas in scifi, and not just shoot-em-ups. Atlantis is sometimes very navel-gazing, but that show really made me feel for the guy who lost everything, and the crash landing on the planet was one of the coolest I've seen since Firefly, or when Voyager crashed on that ice world.

SPOILER ON THIS REPLY

Wow is right.  I wasn't very happy about that one.  I really liked him.  They should have had Rodney go.

I had heard that one character was going, but I wasn't expecting that at all.

No way!  Rodney's whining obnoxiousness is way too entertaining.  He is a major reason I like the show.  People like that can be really annoying in real space but they are funny as hell in TV space.

I found it curious how they have Major Sheppard qualified for Mensa but he won't participate and Rodney making a big deal about it.  I let my Mensa membership expire after the first year, I'd stopped going to their brunches after a few months.

I agree, Why kill Rodney?  Rodney is awesome.  He was soo funny in Sateda when he got shot in the butt. LOL

Oh yeah - forgot about that one.   "I can't believe you SHOT me".  No, I'm sure they pay David Hewlett a very nice salary for his role.  I enjoy all the characters and their interactions.   Rodney should have gone fishing with Beckett.

Rico

It was announced awhile ago that a new doctor would be coming on to SG: Atlantis (I believe the new doc will be played by Jewel Staite who played Kaylee on Firefly).  I didn't really expect them to kill off Carson though.  Thought he might just move back to Earth or something.  But towards the end of this last show I suspected he might die saving the other guy's life.  A tough episode to watch, but I still love the series.

Darkmolerman

I thought he would survive the explotion with some cuts and bruises or that a bad dream, That last part with Rodney Talking to him was sad, Dose anyone really die on that show? They all ascend almost, well more just be in people's dreams

You have to love a guy that can blow up an entire solar system for the sake of his ego.  ROFL

Now that you mention it he does remind me of Q.

I guess Q really was worse because he had real power.

Aw, come on!

Rodney just blew up a solar system by accident.

Can you imagine Rodney killing a young girl 'cause she wouldn't join the Q Continuum?

How many crewman were killed when Q introduced Picard to the Borg?

Q was really broken up about that.

You'll understand politics some day, Amanda Rogers is Safely in the continuum, no need to worry.  I was acting on orders and I was potentially guarding humanity against a great danger.  If Rogers was a hybrid between a Q and a human, she would not be able to control her powers and would probably kill many people before the continuum could stop her.  If she managed to pass off her powers into the wrong hands as a human (most likely would have happened) the continuum would be in a real tough situation.  It was in her and everyones best interest that she join the continuum.

Second of all, the federation would eventually meet the borg either way, me introducing them or me not introducing them.  There still would have been blood shed.  The federation has benefited from being introduced to the borg anyhow.  Now picard has prepared humans against the borg with is knowledge of how to defeat them.  How would voyager have survived getting home without knowledge of the borg?  They would have likely lead the borg right to Earth without any warning.  In a sense I did you a favor through blood and iron.

Finally if you were in my position you would harass humans too.  After being everywhere and practically doing everything, existence becomes awfully dull.  What would u do if u were extremely bored and you could entertain yourself by getting a reaction out of an easily annoyed person?

Hope that puts things in perspective Mr. Sock :P

Now back on topic before Rico moves this to the conversations section

I thought I was comparing two fictional characters, I didn't know I was talking to the actual Q.

You will notice my handle is not Mr. Spock even though I got called that when TOS was on the air.  I did like the Evil Mr. Spock much better than the Uncle Tom Tom version.  I like Ming the Merciless too.

You will have to excuse me if I can't take Mr. Sock seriously.  ROFL
