OH! Audio Adrenaline is one of my favs... so is Jars Of Clay. Newsboys rock too. I used to go to the concerts too. Went to see Third Day a few years ago. :)

I saw Third Day at Creation a few years ago, they were just before Newsboys came out.
And I spent five hours in the mash pit for Audio A (Wasn't a bad wait either, got to see David Crowder and Kutless before Audio A came out), it was Audio A's last concert at Creation and I was right in front.

I have seen Audio A several times and really enjoy them.  Now, David Crowder Band, there is an amazing band.  I have all their stuff and am particularly fond of their cover of Delirious?'s "Obsession"  WOW.

I have been and always will be, your friend.

Have you heard of Benjamin's Gate? Pretty hard sounding, but I liked it. They have a unique sound. They're from South Africa.

Yes, I enjoy them, but then I also like the heavy stuff, Disciple, East West, P.O.D. and the like. :)

I haven't really gotten into P.O.D. The last album I heard had rap mixed in and though I liked the lyrics I'm not a fan of rap. To each his own. :)

I miss FONO, Sixpence None The Richer and now Audio A...

Today I listened to Rick's latest parody. I think it's my favorite so far. :) It will air today on Treks In Sci-Fi. Thanks for writing it for us Rick. I'm very thankful for all your help. :)

If I had your talent, I know I'd have fun making such cool tunes!  Seriously; your songs are awesome!

I was thinking about the grumblings coming out of Russia, and it took me back to my early high school days.  While not as fierce as it was during the Kennedy administration, the cold war was still alive and well.  I remember living with a slight but ever-present sense of dread kicking around in the back of my mind, a fear that was no doubt fed by TV films like "The Day After" and the regular civil defense alarm tests that would sound every month or so.  Back then, I found some comfort in the the music of one of my favorite groups, Earth, Wind, and Fire; in particular, their song That's The Way Of The World.  So this morning, I started my day off listening to them.

Song- That's The Way Of The World

Artist- Earth, Wind, and Fire

Why-  To me, this band, and this song in particular, embody the spirit of Hope For The Future that Gene Roddenberry envisioned with Star Trek.  The song conveys a powerful message- All of us, regardless of national origin or political leaning, are first and foremost citizens of the Earth, and all carry within us a predisposition to live in harmony with one another.  It is up to all of us to find the courage to shrug off the divisiveness that some of our leaders and teachers try to force on us, and rediscover the "heart of gold" that we were born with.

For those of you unfamiliar with the band, here are some of their lyrics-

You will find peace of mind
If you look way down in your heart and soul
Don't hesitate 'cause the world seems cold
Stay young at heart 'cause you're never (never, never, ..) old at heart

That's the way of the world
Plant your flower and you grow a pearl
A child is born with a heart of gold
The way of the world makes his heart so cold

And the Band in action-

Cool - Newsboys.  Jeff's mom/dad are two of my best friends.

Sanctus Real

My youth paster put together a big concert with Sanctus Real, Mainstay, and the Afters in my little town. It was awesome, what was really cool was that it was a concert were I knew almost everyone around me. It was one of my favorite concerts, also considering it wasn't a long trip to get there, about a two minute drive from my house.

"My Apocalypse" and "The Day That Never Comes" from the forthcoming album "Death Magnetic" by Metallica.  WHOA! GREAT Tunes and I  must say that I have not been looking forward to a Metallica like this in a long time.

I haven't heard any of the new Metallica, what is it like? I kind of fell out with them after and Justice for All, as I was always more of an old school Metallica person then the more recent albums.
