I've had "Don't Stop Me Now" by Queen stuck in my head for the past two days.  I blame Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright.

I'm not sure how long this has been out, but I found out about it yesterday-  It's a video featuring Natalie Portman (made by her ex-boyfriend, I think).  I like it a lot; the song has a post-modern/retro feel to it, and the video is VERY TRIPPY...

the song is Carmensita by Devendra Banhart.  Check it out:

This morning, on my way to work, I navigated my iPod to Kansas, "Dust In The Wind". In fact, IT'S BEEN STUCK IN MY HEAD ALL DAY! :D

Jen,
Got to see them live back in the day in NY. What a great band!

I've been listening to the new CD just released from Todd Rundgren called Arena which is just him in a power trio playing all sorts of "Arena Rock" styles. Highly recommend to Mr. Moyer and those of you who can dig some really fine writing, Guitar playing, and production from one of the innovators of the last 40 years. Todd is one of my three main musical "Heroes". Truly a superhuman of music just do a search on Youtube. He also produced many groundbreaking recordings during the 70's thru the 90's like Meatloaf's "Bat out of Hell" and the dude can still sing and play his butt off in his late 50's! He a member of "The New Cars" which has been touring on and off the last few years.

I got to meet him the first time back in the mid seventies when he was already a master and I was just grasshopper.

Below is Todd playing one of his earliest tunes from The Nazz, his first big break back in the late 60's.

Meds,
Thanks much for the song, did make me smile your a pal. But please don't misunderstand.

Ya know, my mom is almost 90 and all she has to care for her besides my brother and I is the money she scrapped and saved for 60 years with my Dad before he died in 2005. I have no children who will care for me when I'm at that age so when I lost that money I worry that is lost care for me and my wife in our retirement going away as the "future Value" of the money I lost could pay for our care for at least a 12 months in those twilight years. So it isn't so much about losing wealth. I just want a happy future for my wife and I however modest. As for me I plan to play in a Rock and Roll band and be a total stoner in those years. I need to put back up my black light posters and lava lamps and watch the 100 anniversary collection of TOS till I personally get to meet the Guardian of Forever.  :metallica:

Its all about security and peace of mind isn't it.
I like the idea of you rocking into the zone, I've told my other half that I want to retire in Kefalonia (of course this is a total pipe dream but hey, you've got to have dreams) or ride a Harley across the world and die parking it. (I don't own a bike, or a bike licence but when I'm 78 who's gonna stop me ;)  )

I wish you the best mate, we're just selling and buying a house, money is going down and down and we're being charged the Earth, my work place is suffering and i sometimes feel like I can't win. But when i get home and see my wife, I think well sod that, I'm happy and if everything around me goes up in the air we've got each other. You and your wife will be glazing at your Lava lamps for ever more, with a big smile on your face,  (and the biggest fraking keyboard you could ever build)

One of the songs that my iPod played this morning was Rufus Wainwright's "Cigarettes and Chocolate Milk."  I love his work and hope he has another concert near my city soon.

I listened to "Daisy" by Stone Temple Pilots and "Spanish Caravan" by The Doors. Wow the Doors sounded really stoned when they did that concert I found on You Tube... ::)
