1. Toshiba G900 PDA (don't use it as a phone anymore but it's great for computing and things e.g. listening to podcasts!)
2. My new Kodak digital photo frame - finally I can see all those pics I've been taking.
3. Palm TX - retired from being a PDA but is good as a portable video player
4. Cheap cell phone - Nothing special but it's loud enough to hear on a busy street and cheap enough to lose without crying.
5. My Dell laptop (if others can have PCs so can I)

Who needs ipods?

I know it's unnusual here but I don't have a podcast of my own.

1. My PC - I work on it, I play on it. It's by far the single item of tech I use more then anything else.
2. 6 GB 2nd Gen ipod mini - had it forever, the thing's a tank. it jsut won't die.
3. XBox 360 - When I tire of WoW, the 360 gives me a nice respite.
4. Cell phone - LG Chocolate: Gotta stay connected! Also like using it to text Twitter. I want an iPhone, but I can't justify the cost at the moment.
5. DS Lite - Great for waiting in my car for my wife to come out of wherever she may be.

I think you'll be ok if you keep it short and sweet (and the go and buy an ipod ;)  )

I'll be the first to admit Apple's products aren't for everyone.  Gamers, Blackberry fanatics, etc.  It just works so well for me.  I first fell in love with the imac, then moved on to the ipod and just recently the iphone.

I like how the iphone has apps that are made for using twitter, myspace, facebook and netflix.  There really needs to be one for yahoo answers because it is a hard site for a mobile browser to use on an edge conection.  I can see how not having a keyboard would drive some people crazy but it works fine for me.  They really need to add 2 huge features: Flash support, and cut/paste.  That would help out so much.  And they really need a password manager to avoid typing the password all the time.

I'm a fan of the classic ipod because I just like that clickwheel.  I don't really see the appeal of the others because I use a ton of space on an ipod.  And it's really nice with a good pair of noise canceling headphones for a warm solid sound.

The mac OSX is my all time fav OS.  And not just because of the eye candy.  I do often tweak it and use other programs than the apple programs.  I use thunderbird for my email so I can use the plugins for pop access to my hotmail and yahoo.

The Garmin Nuvi is the best GPS I have used.  Wouldn't trade it for another.

Archos PMA400
http://www.lordpercy.com/archos_pma400_review.htm

Really cool device.  I mostly use it as a book reader and MP3 player for audiobooks but it also records and plays video though not as good as DIVX.  It does wireless internet access though the screen is too small for good surfing.  And it is a Linux computer.

OLPC-XO

Longer range wireless than PMA400 and a big enough screen.  Somewhat heavy for a good book reader and won't fit in a pocket.  I need to get a folding USB keyboard.

Accuphase E-202 integrated amplifier
http://www.accuphase.com/e-202_e.htm

Really nicely made amplifier.  I have had it for 30 years.  I used to come home from work and take it apart just to look at the insides.  After working on the crap that most people buy it made me feel better.  LOL

Vandersteen 2ci speakers

http://www.vandersteen.com/pages/2celit.html

I saw one website where someone said these are the best sounding speakers you can get for less than $4000.  Pretty good for $1500 last time I checked.  The same basic design since 1977.  Physics does not change.

Dual 1219 tutntable
http://dual-reference.com/tables/1219.htm

OK, so I don't use it for months at a time and my Kenwood KD-500 with a Linn Sondek arm is actually better, I just like smooth operating automatic tables.  So sue me.  LOL

I was having lunch with a computer programmer back in the 80s and I told him that the 1219 was the last good turntable that Dual ever made.  He sat there with his mouth hanging open and said he knew someone else into audio that had told him the exact same thing.
