I saw it earlier today and I really enjoyed it. I think that they have about 20 years before the cylon war begins, but I like it a lot. I think it's interesting to see some of the concepts that are going on and what happened to technology in the time after the war as compared to before it.

Saw it last night; awesome pilot!  Enjoyed the way it approached the question " What constitutes life?", and the depth it added to the BSG universe was great.

Some points that really stood out for me:
-The use of the McCreary tune "A Good Lighter" during the scene with Joseph & young Bill Adama.  It instantly took me back to the scene from the BSG episode "Hand Of God", when Adama gives his lighter to Lee and tells him how it used to belong to his father.

-The background information on the Taurans and their place in colonial society

-The scene with Joseph & his 'daughter' in the VR program.  A very chilling scene, especially because her reaction seems exactly like how I'd imagine a person in that situation would feel if it could happen in real life.

-Seeing the 'first' Cylon, and finding out the roots of the Cylon religion.
Overall, a very promising start to what I hope will be a long-lived series. :)

Finally got around to watching my DVD. Not bad overall.

The only thing that didn't really sit well with me was the last scene with Zoe's voice coming out of the Cylon. Just struck me as a bit out of place.

However, even with this episode, you can see where the Cylon religion stems from. It's funny how some small trivial detail can have such huge ramifications.

Just ordered the DVD...can't wait to watch it! :)

Does anyone know when this will show on Sci-Fi?

finally got to see Caprica on the SyFy website.

Ok.  Compelling, great story line, cool technology and even cooler if  you are a die hard fan of the original and the reboot.  Pretty darn cool.  I liked the way it was filmed. Not a kid friendly show, but it seems like it will be a great series.

I have been and always will be, your friend.

KatzeKitty and I watched the pilot last weekend and I think we both liked it. The pacing was a bit slow, but the plot still kept me interested. I'm sure we'll be tuning in for the duration. :cylon
Anyone else have an opinion?

Yes. I like it, and I'm looking forward to the new episodes. The writing / scripting appeals to me, as do the characters. There is a TON of material to be explored by the  series, and I plan to do my little part to promote the show.

That show looks like it will go far, maybe not 5 seasons but defiantly far. I love how...

The first Cylon is zoe

Adama is a kid (kinda young and annoying)
and I like how they did how it all happened

I hate to admit it but I'm a little confused as to the timeline for the Caprica series and BSG, mostly because it's been too long since I've seen the latter.
Kind of trying to figure out how the final five cylons fit into this whole picture. I'm under the (possibly mistaken) impression that they had something to do with the development of the Cylon race in the 12 Colonies after arriving there from the wrecked Earth.
Liking the character of Dr. Graystone. IMO Eric Stoltz is a good fit for this particular role. He's been one of my favorites since the film "Killing Zoe" back in 1993 and can carry a quietly intense, conflicted character really well.

As chadH said, we'll keep watching.

But,
who in their right mind would put a temperamental, bitchy, rebellious teenage girl's persona into a machine designed for killing? no wonder the human race was doomed.
I wonder if
Zoe's Mother is the initial cause of her/the Cylons turning against humanity? She has outed her as a terrorist now.
It is interesting.   How many years is this before the Cylons attack?  I wonder if they will try to cover the entire time period.  So, bascially Zoe found a way to "download" her conscience into a computer.  Sounds pretty advanced for a teenager.  I have to think she got some help.  I hope this will not be a time-travel, self-fulfilling prophecy thing.
