Rico ...
Zoe 2.0 was created by Zoe, who was inspired by what looks to be a Head Zoe and the one god. Daniel did make Tamara 2.0 for Joe. Now we're getting the story on how that all happened. They showed in flashes how smart she was, but now we're seeing where all that leads.
Breaking: Syfy cancels 'Caprica'
by Michael Ausiello
Categories: Caprica, News, Scoop

Caprica is toast. Syfy has announced that the low-rated Battlestar Galactica prequel has been canceled.

"The remaining first run episodes of Caprica – airing Tuesdays at 10/9c – will be removed from the schedule as of next Tuesday, November 2," said the network in a statement. "These final five episodes of the season will be re-scheduled to air at a to be announced time in the first quarter of 2011, and will conclude the run of the series."

"We appreciate all the support that fans have shown for Caprica and are very proud of the producers, cast, writers and the rest of the amazing team that has been committed to this fine series," said Mark Stern, EVP of Original Programming at Syfy. "Unfortunately, despite its obvious quality, Caprica has not been able to build the audience necessary to justify a second season."

Not surprising, seriously, I love BSG but this wasn't even close. I was just about to delete it from my DVR. Moore should have gone straight ahead focusing on the Zoe/Centurion and made it more action and fun rather than a dark and depressing look at ethnic, racial, and religious tensions in the first season. He could have saved that for later but he needed to find an audience first.

Rico

Sorry to see it go, but it wasn't quite grabbing many people.  Considering the geek quotient here, it needed a different approach.

Don't you think it would have been way more fun to have Zoe/Cylon running around, escaping capture with Daniel trying to find her and protect her, using the crime syndicate Taurons to help while the government/evil corporate types try and exploit it? Sometimes a dumb, simple story really is best. Instead we get polygamist religious sects, Martin Scorsese level of crime family violence, teenage girls fighting in V whatever....

I've been watching Caprica, but it's hardly top of my list, but I just think Syfy is stupid these days. How many actual story driven shows do they have left on the channel? Almost everything is paranormal reality shows and wrestling (which I hate even more). I have little respect for SyFy channel anymore, it's worse than any of the network channels.

Rico

One of the big problems I think is they picked the wrong time frame to do the series.  It would have been much more interesting to see Cylons as they started working in society and then eventual rebel - but that was many years away for "Caprica."  This upcoming BSG movie sounds like a much better time setting with Adama as a younger version of himself during the first Cylon war.  Oh, well.  I respect them for attempting something as ambitious as they did.

Yes, 'The Rise of the Machines' was what I hopes to see. What we got was something much diminished from that in my opinion. My decision now is over whether to bother with the second half of the season if it comes back over here.

I know it's unnusual here but I don't have a podcast of my own.

Did this show get cancelled?  I was just starting to warm to it - especially after the last released episode.

Yup, cancelled. You might get the last few episodes of season 1 sometime next year. I'm not sure if they're going to air any of the back half over here.

Looks like the final episodes will air - all in the same day:

Wondering when you can see the final episodes of "Caprica"? Syfy finally has given an answer.

The "final five" of the "Battlestar Galactica" spinoff will air Jan. 4, just after the New Year. And no, it doesn't start Jan. 4 ... the final five episodes will actually air Jan. 4 from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. ET.

Syfy is essentially burning off the episodes, running them in a marathon to collect whatever revenue it can from the final episodes in the series it cancelled earlier this month after a single season.

The cable channel, which made the unusual move of pulling the show off the air as soon as the plug was pulled, made no formal announcement about the scheduling, at least not through its normal channels using entertainment news outlets.

Because of that, it's likely Syfy will invest absolutely no money in promotion of the final episodes.

I'm still looking for some indication that we're going to see any of the back half over here. In one sense, I don't mind but I think I'll watch them through if they do come on.

I'm going to finish out watching the series too.  I've been hearing very good things about the final episodes since they have "leaked" online in places.

I finished Caprica's second season last night and, you know?, it wasn't at all bad. It definately picked up a hell of a lot at the end of the second series and, what it showed to come from series 3 looked good. Pity it was cancelled as it was going to go the way Rico suggested above...

I think it suffered so much because season 1 had no exciting story arc with a definate ending. Season 2 had a big event that they needed to try and stop as a part of it's story arc. And at the end, we got a conclusion to this story arc. If they had condensed series 1 and 2 into a single season, I'm sure it would have kept a lot more viewers interest and maybe, just maybe, avoided cancellation!
