Awesome!  Man, you guys are really making me want to dig into something soon.  I think a trip to the local hobby store is in order.

Here's where I am after working on this on and off today (took a break for some Linsanity). I've already decided I'm not doing a Red 5 or any known X-Wing, so i'm having a bit of fun. That's the cool thing about the SW Universe and the "lived in" look. So, I'm nowhere near done but I'm getting alot of detaily stuff done. I wish I had an airbrush like I used to, so this is all traditional painting. Having fun with it though.

Looking good Chris!  Love that lived-in look of the SW universe.

Looks like you are having a lot of fun, thanks for sharing the pictures :)

FABULOUS! Keep at it and don't spare the paint thinner to make the weathering!

ChrisMC

Well, I'm gonna call it done. I did some weathering with black paint and thinner, and did some more detail stuff, but I have to stop and move on with my life!! Anyway, it was fun, but this kit did make me pull my hair out. Models are made way more user friendly nowadays.

Really great job Chris.  Love the weathering and "lived in" look you gave the ship.  You should be proud!  Looks nice next to the Viper too.

Bryancd

Excellent work! That old AMT/ERTL X-Wing, despite being a bit wonky and a bear to put together well, gives me so many good memories of all the versions I built as a kid. You did it proud, my man!

ChrisMC

Thanks, the thinner/black paint mix worked real well and gave it the look I wanted almost immediately.
