Thanks for all the suggestions here! I came back looking for info on how/where to start watching Dr Who and am happy to have found this old topic  :)

Jon Pertwee was my "first" Doctor and "The Three Doctors" the episode I remember best from that time. "Battlefield" is one of my favorite episodes overall. I do wish that Paul McGann could have had more time to develop his character and Matt Smith adds a lot to his predecessors. Do you think they'll bring any of the classic Doctors (or actors portraying them in some cases) into the 50th year celebration?

Well, that's the big question isn't it?

As far as the series itself goes, publicity for the moment shows only Matt Smith and David Tennant but we'll see. As part of the wider celebrations they are doing other things, with actors portraying the early cast and crew in a documentary type affair I believe.

I know it's unnusual here but I don't have a podcast of my own.

I would find it hard to believe there will be no mention or involvement of the previous Doctors, at least thru archival footage, maybe modified to fit a scenario, a 'la The Five Doctors.
