METEOR STORM TONIGHT

Hi everyone. Short notice I know, but the Persied meteor shower is coming tonight and It promises to be a big one. From about 9pm local time until dawn, look North and witness upto a shooting star a minute. Fantastic. Please post any results here, although there probably won't be any pictures. Happy meteor spotting

The show was AMAZING! 

Catherine and I took a big pillow, three big blankets, a bowl of popcorn, a cherry coke zero and ourselves out to the front yard to lay on the trampoline.  We turned off all the lights and gazed upward from 10 till 11:30.  We counted 42 meteors!  We know there were many more that were just out of our peripheral vision.  That was great.

The fun part is.  We had rain and clouds all day.  My daughter informed me that she prayed and asked God to clear up the sky so she could see the meteor shower.  And at nine o'clock, the clouds blew away and we had a PERFECT night sky.  Clear as a bell.

She informed me that God answers prayers. 

Well, it was a great show, and a few of them had fiery tales streaking through the sky.  It was awesome!

I guess being in Hawaii means I am going to completely miss it, I just looked for awhile and the onlything that I thought was a shooting star was a plane going Thru a cloud...

I saw 4-5 good one's over a 15 min period this morning at 4:00am. in Arizona.

I saw one, just one measly meteor in a 15min period, and that was a crappy one. Perhaps I'll get some dregs tonight >:(

We went out again tonight.  We saw a couple dozen real nice ones.  Ah, the fun of it all!

I started falling asleep so I figured I should come back in.

Aww Rick, now I'm really envious. No dregs, what a letdown, I was so looking forward to a good spectacle. Maybe next time. Glad to see you had two good nights though. Nice one.  ;D
