That is pretty cool.  But they forgot the "Kirk coefficient" in their calculations.  ;)

And that was a lot of assumptions as to speed and distance and other things.

LOL. Aside from the F-Bomb that video was too funny! I love the ending with the red marker. :D
Looks like something Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory would have made for youtube.

QuoteAccording to Adam, he would have needed to apply a force of 3,900 Newtons with his fingers to stop from falling. His calculations, however, don't take into account the friction of his body, as some of the comments in his article point out. But then again, he gave Kirk a 4m/s liftoff speed on his jump—which is quite high.

In any case, we stand by our answer: Who gives a vulcan ass about this.

Yes, I have seen one site that called the science of Star Trek rubbery.    :roflmao

I can see where the Kirk worshipers would love that segment regardless.  :worthy

Personally the scene in Mirror, Mirror where Mirror Spock tells Kirk he has orders to kill him is one of my favorites.  I'll go see XI of course but I expect it to be too 60's in style if not effects to be what I really like.
