Original Pilot Episode

Wow, I can't believe I hadn't seen this before.  I rigged up our new Apple TV, and one of the first Netflix episodes I watched was the original pilot with Jeff Hunter.  The Menagerie episode I have seen many times, but never the full contiguous pilot episode.  I really enjoyed it!

Yes, it is very good, definitely a harder sci-fi feel than TOS ended up having. I guess NBC felt Pike was too serious and the whole affair was too brainy and not enough fun.

Love watching that original pilot episode.  Actually it's one of the first things I watched on my iPad when I got it even though I had seen it many times before (even when it was in that one night only theater showing from several years back).

Yeah it is a really cool pilot.  I like the uniforms, the smiling shouting Spock and he butt heads.

It's an excellent example of mid 60's cerebral sic-fi.

The Original Pilot would have made a great episode of the Outer Limits.

true that! i do like how they ended up not using the pilot itself but instead incorporating it into a part 1, part 2 episode. very clever ^_^
