Glad I could help.  I think you will enjoy the books, they really are pretty cool.  The author is very good at making you empathize with the characters.

The Protagonists, even the ones with special abilities, are painted as very real.  The dangers they face feel real.  I often found myself experiencing the same anxiety the character's felt as they fought or ran for their lives.  I'm eagerly looking forward to the next book in the series.

I loved that book! Haunted Mesa by Louis Lamor is also very good, and also not a western. ;)
