I couldn't resist taking some pictures of the fascinating tulips on my front porch.  They are pretty cool looking.  Take a gander.

Then, taking the camera and looking straight down into it.. you get...

and...

Here is another tulip that is very cool....

Taking a closer look at it...

Then looking down inside it...

Pretty cool looking...

Here is a cool blue flower...

Or a neat little dafodil...

Pretty pics.  Some of them make me think the flowers are going to say "Feed Me!"

Feed me, I'M HUNGRY!!!

Awesome colors, are you using a tripod?

moyer777

The colors are so rich!  I agree.

No, no tripod, I'm just holding it.  I am using a regular lens, and then I put on the Macro for the inside the flower pics.

It's that Canon Rebel.

Cool camera.  It has such depth of field.

You do such a great job with your Pictures Rick, I am still working at getting better with the pictures I take

I haven't used the Canon Rebel before. Does it have built in image stabilazation?

The last Canon I owned was an A-1 (a great camera for it's day).
I don't miss paying the high cost or waiting for prints!

I have a Sony Cybershot 828 that I like quite a bit.
I get to use a Nikon D300 at work with a Nikkor 18 - 200 mm lens. I still can't believe the company bought it for us!
If you use Photoshop at all, you should get to know the "Raw" file format capabilities.

moyer777

You know I don't know about the IS.  I just know I can do manual focusing and switch lenses and stuff.  I probably need to read more about what I have.  :)  It was spendy, but worth every penny.

I do use photo shop, but haven't goofed around in RAW yet.

Beautiful! I wish we could maintain tulips here... they die rather quickly.

I had a little bit of time yesterday afternoon.  Here are a few more cool pics...  enjoy

Here is a tulip almost in bloom.  I got a bunch of bulbs on close out, planted a little late, and now.. cool.

the next couple are of a flower called Freezia... kind of cool.

This one was kind of different.

The fire tulip was completely open...

Pretty vivid colors in this tulip

This one really "bugged" me.

These are the buds on the apple tree.  Neato!

Here is part of our herb garden.  Amazing color.  It looks like the crystaline entity!

Here it is with the purple fenel as well.

And then one with a little contrast...

My baked potatoes will be much tastier soon due to the Chives blooming...

The new Pics you have up look great Rick. I have the same camera as you do, but just not able to produce the quality pics you do. I am hoping over the summer, to start to take better looking pictures, and reading a few books for help.

moyer777

Thanks Jeff, you know the secret is that for every photo you see I take about 15 more.  So, I can easily take 90-150 pictures and only get a couple that really come out excellent.  I approach my photo taking like watching a movie and capturing that ultimate moment.  I think that an interesting picture has a couple of elments--

It has to be unique and have some type of depth of field element to it.  Something that grabs a person and smears the everyday look at things.  It has to pop out.  So when I'm looking through the viewfinder I think about a world that we don't ordinarily see.  Something that unless you got right up at something and took some time to look at it, that you would miss it.  Thus, the picture becomes interesting because we don't see things from that perspective, yet they are right under our noses.

Fun eh?

I just love taking photos.

Now, I think I'm going on a walk, and then to Iron Man!  Woo hoo!
