I got the DVD set as a gift for Christmas this year(my family knowing that I'm a sci fi geek).  I gotta say they surprised me cause I had never heard of it before.  It aired in 99 I think.  The wife and I sat down for a viewing last night and barely made it through the first episode.   I don't want to come across as totally ragging on this show but it was really bad!!!   The effects looked crumby, the acting was forced, and the story so far is kinda lame.  Even their top of the line ship(the Excalibur) wasn't anyting to write home about.

There is no way my wife will watch any more and I want to give it a chance but.......well, we'll see.   Watching a show like this really makes you appreciate good Trek, BSG and of course Firefly!!!

I'd love to hear from someone that disagrees and thinks it deserves another shot.

Are you talking about the Babylon 5 spin off?

Serenity

It was done by the same guy that did Babylon 5.  Not sure if its a spin off or not, I never followed Babyon 5.

ElfManDan

I watched the Crusade not that long ago, it came almost strait after finishing Babylon 5. To be perfectly honest I agree with you, I didn't like it much. I struggled through the whole thing. The only reason I watched it all was cause of how much I enjoyed B5, but it definitely was not B5 quality.

I've seen the first disk but we haven't got the others yet. It's...OK. I think it made me cringe a bit and certainly isn't worthy of the B5 mantle.

I'm not rushing to see the rest but I will get round to it.

I know it's unnusual here but I don't have a podcast of my own.

I actually kind of liked it.  I watched it when it first aired.  I think it had a lot of potential.  I liked the blending of mystical/spiritual stuff and science they were trying to do with Galen, etc.  Another show cut down before it had a chance to find it's legs - in my opinion.  Try to watch a few episodes before making up your mind.

There was one episode that was really funny.  It was a take off on the X-Files where humans were the aliens.  Other than that it was a disappointment after Babylon 5.

Andre Norton does it better than J.K.Rowling
