We had to put down Our Cat Smokey two weeks ago as it was found out that she had congestive heart failure, she was a great companion too our 14 year old Christy. Christy has been very upset so today we brought home a 8 month old companion for her and this is going well so far.

Our new cat is Named Burma and is 8 months old she is a real sweet cat and very friendly and affectionate. We think she will make a great addition to our Family.

The first three pictures are of Burma, the fourth picture is smokey and Christy and the last photo is of smokey as a kitten we had her for 14 years.

I had to put down my beloved kitty cat Aldo-bunny when he got liver failure at the ripe old age of 18.  I got him from a pet rescue shelter as a baby kitten when I was a sophomore at Penn State.  He was only six weeks old, and he was my constant companion until the end of his life.  Driving home from the veterinary clinic on his last day was trecherous, I had to pull over three times because I was blinded by tears.  But time heals all wounds and now I cherish the memories of the many years we had together.  I've never replaced him though, I felt he was the best cat ever and I'm not sure I even want another.

Edit:  My Aldo-bunny looked just like your cat Christy, a black and white Calico.  So cute!

I Know how you feel, we talked about getting another cat for a long while before we did. I thing Burma may have been abused as she is so timid, but she has really warmed up to Me and allows me to pick her up and cuddle her like a baby and she loves it and just purrs away, so i am so glad we decided to pick her up from the shelter.

Now we just have to introduce her to my other three cats slowly so she will be accepting of her . So far so good , other then a bit of hissing the other cats seem to be tolerating her.

I'm so sorry John, it's no fun I've been there.  I'm glad you decided to get another kitty.  Our cats are still getting used to Jade, our new doggie.  They really wish we would have waited longer!  :)

I have been and always will be, your friend.

I feel for you. Loss of a pet is always a hard thing, been there many times myself. I hope it doesn't take too long for your new cat to fit in.
