I still don't see the 4 as the same type of Cylons as all the rest.

Great article... so they are cylons... just "different" kind of cylons. It's going to be a long nine months.

Through out the epsiode I got the feeling that Sam, Tori, Chief and Tigh were part of the final 5. Actually when they showed Chief hearing the music, I came to that conclussion. I will admit from what Kenny was saying the previous episode, I was hoping that would not be the case. Since all 4 had fought so hard against the Cylons in the occupation, I could see them as being anti-cylons, cylon models that are against the other models.

As for Starbuck, as kenny spoke of in earlier posts, and I agree with him, I would really like to see her tied to the Beings of Light, like in the Original, and be the reason why she will be able to lead the fleet to earth. I am happy to see her back, though I never really believed she would be gone from the series all that long. I was expecting to see her in this finale, and happy about that.

The music was a nice touch, at first, I felt it was very out of place, and did not like it. After they showed the shot of earth, and Starbuck saying she had been to Earth, I found that the music was proper, as it helped tie the Galactica to Earth, and made both more relevant to each other.

The trial was great, and I expected Lee to make some big statment, which would get Baltar off. I am interested to see how the Baltar/Gaeta story plays out next year, as I think there is still much more between the two, as Gaeta lied, and showed no remorse about it.

I dont know why all these TV critics seem so eager to get these shows off the air. That article Rico posted, I found that the Critic was digging the grave for the series, I am not sure if he feels it is a feather in his cap to call the demise. I personally would love to see more season of Galactica, and not so eager to see it finished off for good. I can hardly wait for the DVD's for the season to comeout, and hopefully those will be strong, to convince the Studios that it is agreat show and should be kept going.

I still don't like the "different Cylon" idea.  I just don't see how Tigh can be a Cylon.  I mean he is like 60 years old?  I thought the timeline from the miniseries said this type of Cylon that looks human hasn't been around until recently.  Oh, well.  Many months to ponder it all.

Well Dean Stockwell's Cylon is older also...

I actually look forward to seeing how this all plays out.

The wife and I just watched the finale.  Wow!

Adama voting for acquittal was great.  I knew Baltar was getting off, but that was a nice touch.

Apollo jumping back into his viper, regardless of all that just went down, just felt so right.

I started giggling like a child when we saw a viper shadowing him.  You just knew it was Kara.

Cylon or not, Tigh is THE MAN!!

10 months??  ARRGH!!

Yeah my simple theory is that these four are part of the final five and are cylons that opposed waging war againts the colonies and were eliminated somehow, but they were programmed to wake at the critial moment by the as yet unrevealed fifth cylon...BOB DYLAN.

Yes - but he isn't based on a real person.  He was made to appear older to start with.  all the "skin jobs" as they are called are originals made a certain way, age, body type, etc.  Adama has known Tigh for decades.  He can't be like the the "normal skin jobs."  I’m really starting to think that these new “Cylon” types (Tigh and the others) are going to become leaders and control the rest of the Cylon race/fleet. The other models have been afraid of the final five, so if these are part of the five then they should have some influence. I just don’t get how Tigh could really be any type of Cylon due to his age and the back story Ron Moore setup from the miniseries on. I think Moore is going to be doing some “Retcon” (retroactive continuity) as they say in the comic world during season 4 to fix things.

I wasnt aware it was getting low ratings. It amazes me that shows the quality of Deadwood and Rome are gone after 2 or 3 seasons, and BSG would get low ratings. What are people watching, reality crap and Idol?

Unfortunately...yes.  Everyone has their own tastes but some of the crap that gets ratings nowadays is unbelievable.

I don't think Moore would've chosen Tigh to be a cylon if he didn't know how to make it work without a retcon.

Yeah I agree.. that's why I'm looking forward to seeing what they come up with.

Rico

Don't get me wrong, I'm looking forward to how all this plays out and have great faith in Ron Moore.  But based on what has been shown and stated about the Cylons, they didn't have human looking Cylons back when Tigh would of had to of been "planted" into human society.

JoSpiv

There's still a lot about the cylons we don't know.

We assume that there were no skin-jobs back before the 1st war, but we don't know for sure.

At the beginning it says, "The Cylons were created by man....they evolved...and they have a plan"  For all we know, the Cylons were orginally created long before we thought they were.

After all, they keep saying it's all happened before, and it will all happen again.

“Battlestar Galactica” Season Three on DVD in August?

On his blog, “Battlestar Galactica,” composer Brear McCreary tells fans the show’s third season will be out on DVD in August 2007.

McCreary says the release date will coincide with a third-season soundtrack release.

This news has not been confirmed by any official sources from NBC Universal, nor are we aware of any extras that may or may not be on the releases. It’s assumed (based on previous releases) the Ron Moore podcasts will be included as commentaries as well as the webisodes that led up to season three. Other potential extras could include the deleted scenes shown on SciFi’s web site, producer David Eick’s video blogs and the blooper reel that made its round on YouTube.

Maybe this will help the long wait for new “Battlestar” as we all ponder the revleations from the final moments on Sunday night’s finale episode.

McCreary's blog entry is interesting. http://www.bearmccreary.com/html/blog/blogmain.htm

Here's an excerpt:

I happened to catch Ron Moore in the hallway at Universal and, in a brief conversation, got everything I needed to know. I learned that the idea was not that Bob Dylan necessarily exists in the characters' universe, but that an artist on one of the colonies may have recorded a song with the exact same melody and lyrics. Perhaps this unknown performer and Dylan pulled inspiration from a common, ethereal source. Therefore, I was told to make no musical references to any "Earthly" versions, Hendrix, Dylan or any others. The arrangement needed to sound like a pop song that belonged in the Galactica universe, not our own.

JoSpiv

Oh My God.   Bob Dylan is the Final 5th Cylon!!!

:D
