Say goodnight Xena...
What a great episode. I loved where this is going. The tag team on the Bay Ship was a highlight (don't want to ruin it for the folks outside the US). And Dualla's dialog with Starbuck was classic. Though Starbuck earned a punch in the face; I loved the stay awake slap Dualla gave Starbuck.
This could be the start of an awesome second half of the season. I say this episode surpasses the demise of Kat episode for second place, just behind the season premiere.

That was a pretty cool Epsiode. Very ingenious how Sharon(Athena) got on to the BaseStar to retrieve her Baby. I am not sure what they are planning with Starbuck, and I am thinking something that I hope I am not correct in.
Sorry to See Deanna/Xena go, but I suspect she will be back down the road.

The episode was good and I very glad it is back.  But in the promos they said someone would find out they are a Cylon.  So who exactly were they referring to?  Baltar certainly did not get his question answered.  And how is Starbuck's painting from way back play a role?  She can't be a Cylon.  Hmmm....

I would have thought deactivating an entire line of human-Cylons (they only have 12 lines right) would be a significant decision to make.  I wonder if the show will look into the impact of making this decision will have on their community.  No 'line' is safe now -- anyone could be deactivated.  Just a thought...

How can you know that? My moneys on the fact that she's on of the final five. ;)

(don't worry if you haven't seen the episode, it's not a spoiler, just speculation on my part.)

Interesting episode.  But, this final five part is kind of bugging me.  I'm feeling a little too teased now.  Especially after Diana's little sequence in the temple place.  She obviously recognized at least one of the final five.  I really don't think any of them is Baltar - that would be just a bit too easy.  Is one of them Starbuck?  Possibly.  Ron Moore doesn't shy away from big moves like this.  Also, who's to say the final five have the same agenda as the other cylons.  I thought I read somewhere that we will know who the five are by the end of this season.  I was glad to see Sharon get her kid back too.  Happy to see the show is back!  :)

I hadn't considered Starbuck as one of the final five.  That is a cool thought.  I agree that I do not think Baltar is one of the final five.  It could also be the President (remember, she has the visions).

My comment was just that in a 'closed community' like the Cylons, wouldn't they have issues with cellular degradation from cloning?  Wouldn't reducing the gene pool have an impact on their society (like that episode from TNG with the female engineer wanting to leave that planet of genetically engineered people)?  And how would the centurions react if they thing their 'gods' are less than perfect because they have (effectively) killed off one of their own kind?

We watched it last night, and I thought it was good show.  I liked it for the same reasons Rico enjoyed it... but Starbuck?  Oh, they just can't!  But they probably will....  I just let a guy borrow my video tape of BTG the original series... he was loving it.  Simpler times.   :ohwell

I have been and always will be, your friend.

I think the painting was more of a signal that Starbuck’s the key to finding Earth. Who needs Baltar when you have a hero who can see the future?  This episode implied that Starbuck has a psychic ability; I think this ability will grow in the coming episodes and she will seek more spiritual guidance…maybe her attitude will change, but her species won’t. I may eat my words later, but I’m going to go out on a limb on this one and say I don't think she’s a skin job.  Here's why: Ron Moore has taken the 'easy route' several times to tie up plot lines. The cure to Laura’s cancer and "fat"/"skinny" Lee are just two examples of Moore's easy plot resolutions. There are several other examples but I'll stop there. :)

I think Moore probably does have plans to make Baltar a Cylon. The Six in his head definately thinks he is. I agree that there are people we trust, onboard Galactica, who are a cylons. I’m just not sure as sure that it’s Starbuck. I think that development would be too close to Sharon’s story.

Okay, there is so much to discuss. Yes I watched it but was on West Coast Time and it was really late before I saw it. Anyway... Sad about Xena, but alas it had to happen I guess. Two things: 1) The Cylon that Xena was talking to has to be a human that she personally hurt or went up against. I just feel that way because of the way she said "I am sorry." She did not apologize for the group, but for herself. 2) Does anyone else think that there is something more to Dean Stockwell's cylon. Like why was it him? The only one there to tell the 3s goodbye. Maybe because he was responsible for getting rid of the "5" and now that she knows who they are she is a threat to the Cavel model's plan. Anyway, it was a good episode that took many unexpected, but great turns.

You made a good point about Xena saying "I'm sorry". She tortured Baltar for info, thinking that he was a human with the directions to Earth. I think she was talking to him.

These 5 cylons are probably going to be nagging at everyone for the next little while. I will know that I will be interested to find out who they are.  I am hoping that Starbucks paintings are more of an indication that she has a higher spiritual knowledge of where earth is then being one of the 5 cylons.
I am looking forward to next week already and counting the minutes. Up here in Canada, our previews are abit different, and they showed a lot of the crew wanting to throw Baltar out an Airlock.

I just saw it again. She is talking to the "light" person when she says it. She doesn't see Baltar yet. However that could be an interpretation.

Saw it...Loved it.  But something that needs to be kept in mind with the Final 5.....It has been stated that the cylon infiltrators had been roaming the colonies only 2 years before the invasion.  Which leads me to believe that anyone with a history that can be traced more than 2 years cannot be a Cylon.  To me this would disqualify most of the "main" characters...ie Adama, Tigh, CHief Apollo, Starbuck etc.  Now I do think Starbuck may become the model that replaces #3 (Xena) because Starbuck has had tissue taken by the skinjobs but I do not believe that she is actual original skinjob Cylon.

Did any of that make sense?
I think it was Socrates who spoke the immortal words:  I drank WHAT?

Your idea is interesting too. Yep, I know where you're going with that one. Its a good hypothesis.  My defense of Starbuck is that she had her ovaries stolen. The Toasters would need a real human in order to make use of them. Even if they didn't know she was a Cylon, and they still removed those organs, they would have found out they were useless Cylon replications.  But who knows...Ron Moore is pretty good at going back and "rewriting" stuff, showing us little flash backs in order to make the story like that work.

I think that "the five" were in existence way before they nuked Caprica...and if I'm right then they wouldn't have had Starbuck's DNA for your replication theory to work.  :)
Archangela has a interesting hypothesis.
