Okay my theory is that the final "five" are like the first generation parent cylons. This is more of an analysis than a theory, but bare with me. It makes sense because the 7 that are going around killing and being crazy are like child or teenage beings. Look at Caprica Six and Sharon... they are rebelling and finding their path just like kids in high school. While I am thinking (hoping) that the final five are basically benevolent beings who want peace with the humans. Maybe exposure to the humans leads you down the path closer to that of the final five. And don't forget that they are trying to draw connections between the Cylon God and the Colony's Gods/esses. This is just as much a spiritual journey as it is a journey to earth. I will try to make sense out of it later.

Well I did it.. I watched all of season 1, 2 and caught up with 3 in a matter of a few months. And I just finished watching the new episode and I'm all caught up. YAY!!!

I agree with Archangela about D'Anna recognizing one of the "final 5" It's was someone she knew (which would mean someone we (the tv audience) will know) and did something too.

What I want to know is how are the "final 5" as we are calling them, associated with the 13th Colony? The Eye of Jupiter temple was built by the 13 Colony (or we at least assume that) but when D'Anna enters the temple and stands in the Nova light she has a vision of the "final 5" and then dies. What would have happend if a human stood in the light, would they see the "final 5" or their Gods?

For that matter are the "final 5" the Cylon gods? Because the Cylons believe in one god.

Why was the Chief drawn to the temple?? Does he have a bigger part to this story?

So many questions....

Can't wait for next weeks episode.

Yeah Kenny! You did it! I'm happy you can join the conversations now. You posed some good questions. I think they're setting Starbuck and Chief up to have a larger spiritual role. Yeah, I wonder what would have happened if Starbuck or Chief stood in the light and why, if its a temple built by humans, would the 5 Cylons appear to Xena?  Hummmm, could they be human Gods?

That's what I was thinking.. do the humans and the Cylons share the same Gods??

Intresting theory.. if God/Gods created Man and Man created Cylons.. then didn't the God/Gods create the Cylons?? They all play a part in the bigger picture.

Interesting....  okay now I just had a WILD thought...

So in a bazaar twist, we find out that the 13th Colony left the other 12 because of a difference in philosophy -- they embraced the Cylons and incorporated them into their community rather than just having them serve as slaves and worker bees.  A similar evolution took place in their world producing human/Cylon hybrids that were accepted as part of their community.  No wars, no strife. And they do not have resusitation chambers so when they die, they go to their Gods.

Five of those hybrids somehow met up with the banished Cylons and helped them evolve into 'skinjobs'.  But they die before the full evolution can be completed which is why they cannot breed yet.  Consequently, the skinjobs are obsessed with NOT dying so they invent the resusitation capabilities and they are on a quest for the 13 Colony because they think that it is THERE where their final journey can be completed.

Obviously, this would mean that the 13th Colony is not 'our' Earth.  (Hmmm... or IS it?)

Thoughts?

Inetresting... however the Cylons were created way WAY after the original 13 colonies... at least I that's how I remember it. I don't think they were around in the colonisation period...

RickPeete

I think you are correct.  But what if the philosophical difference is the way in which technology was moving.  Similar to issues we face today with genetic engineering, cloning, and the like.  If they started down a path of experimentation with that (perhaps against the teachings of the Gods), then they might have split from the 12 to pursue their own vision of the future.

So there may not have been Cylons when they split, but a similar but not exactly parallel development of the two societies could have brought on a different response to the creation of cybernetic beings when the ability was first perfected.

What if Chief DID stand in the temple and see something. They just didn't show it. ??

Great Show can't wait till next weeks episode. Not sure I like the new time slot.

Rico

Yeah I'm not too happy on the new time and day either.  I really got used to it on Friday nights.

Jen

I agree...I hate it when networks move our favorite shows around. That's how some shows end up with bad ratings and eventually canned.

Our whole week is frakked up now.  We used to have a set Friday night TV date and now we're doing late nights Sunday and Monday night which makes for a sickly and tired teacher on Tuesday...

You're getting old when going to bed at 11 is "being up late".

Yes I agree I hate when the move around TV shows.. but the ratings for Sunday night were really good. If the move to Sunday means we get to keep BSG around another season.. then I don't mind watching it on Sunday.
