I felt the same way as most of you about the last episode.  I found myself almost tuning out during the Kara/Lee storyline and then riveted again during the Adama/Baltar scenes.  Then again how could any episode keep up the intensity of last weeks return?

Great show Sunday.  Very "messianic" (?) imagery with regards to Baltar in the water and other shots, plus the long hair and beard.

Will be interested to see how the trial plays out.  Will it parallel the trial of Jesus?  Who will defend Baltar or will he defend himself?  What will Zarek's role in all this be?  He is a former terrorist.

What' the deal with Gaeta?  hopefully he is not a Cylon because I like his character but I am starting to wonder.  Speaking of wondering....What did Baltar whisper in Gaeta's ear that totalyy sent him off the deep end???

Also from last weeks episode.....Who did D'Anna see as a member of the "Final Five" that shocked her and caused her to apologize?  Could it be Gaeta? The Oracle?  Eleen Tigh?  Starbuck?  WHO?!?!?!

man I love this show.

Well I finally got to see this episode and let me say I liked it, but I agree with Jen for the most part.. Both Lee and Starbuck were driving me crazy. I'm glad they ended this part of the story (at least for now). I also agree with Jen.. I'm not a huge Starbuck fan, she's never been a favorite and she's even less of a favorite now. I'm glad De gave Lee a second chance.. let's just hope he doesn't blow it (which I"m sure he will).

I hate Baltar and guess that is a good thing. I want to see him really suffer and die a slow and painful death. I hope they don't drag out the trail for too many episodes.

You know I never really thought of Gaeta as a Cylon but it does make sense, but then again you can say that about 2/3's of the main human characters :)

Gaeta flipped on Baltar because Balter whispered, "you are a cylon" in his ear. It's GOT to be it!

Again - from Ron Moore's podcast as I posted earlier this wasn't what Baltar said.  He was going to try to implicate Gaeta in something that happened on his home planet awhile back.  Basically to try and shift things off himself.

I too listened to Ron's podcast and that was a line of bull! I didn't believe he had even remotley considered trying to throw that bogus story line in. Do you really think in such a well crafted show, they would throw a totally new and never explained story arc in like that?! No way, no day. As I listened to that podcast, the whole thing sounded like he was making it up as a deflection. Listen between the lines, Rico. :).

I am kind of hoping Gaeta is not a Cylon either, as I really like his Character. Like Kenny said, it could really be the any one of the majority of the cast. I think for the next while, I am hoping that what Ron Moore said about a stroyline they had decided not to use, is the reason for the whisper. I did not really share his view for a high view of this episode, half of it was great, the other half was something I could pretty well see on any soap opera.

Geekyfanboy

I guess this past episode wasn't all that great.. no one has said anything or you are all like me and haven't watch it yet.. I hope to watch it tomorrow and I'll comment then.

jedijeff

I thought it was ok, nothing special. Agreed with Ron Moore's comment, that it didnt explore any new ground, and the theme has appeared in many other Television Series, and BSG did not add anything new to the subject.

Jen

It was an ABC after school special  :D
There was another fake "As seen previously on Battlestar Galactica". That technique just seems lazy to me. I guess its the only way to insert new stories that we need more background on.

There were alot of incongruities. Head Balter reappears and Six is being observed in her  cage "talking to herself" (she's making out with the air)â€"UnCOMFORTABLE. That was at the begining of the show and we never see her or "head Baltar" again. It felt like an after thought. The dialog between Baltar and Six was VERY interesting...it was good...but did it belong to this particular episode?

Oh and Cylon's fold clothes now! ;)

I think Angela and I will be discussing this on our next podcast this Saturday. This episode really disappointed her. But I still found it entertaining dispite its problems. Ty is as honory as ever....I love that character.  :D

Yeah, Ty is one ornery SOB.  Ever since the New Caprica arc he has been my favorite character.

Sci Fi announced on Tuesday morning that it has renewed Battlestar Galactica for a fourth season with a minimum of 13 hours.

Yeah beginning in JANUARY OF '08?!?!  BSG has apparently become the Soprano's of the Sci-Fi Channel.

I agree with Jen...an OK episode but it has been done.  And I could not agree more about the seemingly out of place (for this ep) storyline of Caprica Six and Head Baltar....3 minutes at the beginning and then gone.  Like I sadi...OK but it could have been better.

Here's the article from Sci fi.com

Battlestar Renewed For Season 4

SCI FI Channel announced that it has renewed its Peabody-winning original series Battlestar Galactica, ordering 13 new episodes. Production will resume this summer in Vancouver, Canada, with an eye toward a January 2008 premiere.

The decision comes after the series' successful move to a new 10 p.m. timeslot on Sundays. Since moving, Battlestar Galactica's audience has grown over its third-season average by 8 percent in total viewers, by double digits in female viewers, by 19 percent in the show's target demographic of adults aged 18-49 and by 14 percent in adults 25-54. The Jan. 28 episode, "Taking a Break From All Your Worries," delivered 2.5 million total viewers and 1.6 million adults 18-49, the largest audience for any episode since the season-two premiere.

"We're thrilled to bring Battlestar back for another season," Mark Stern, SCI FI's executive vice president of programming, said in a statement. "This series has delivered on every level, from the writing to the acting to the production values. SCI FI is proud to be the home of the best show on television."

The series is from NBC Universal Television Studio and is executive-produced by Ronald D. Moore and David Eick. Its cast is led by Edward James Olmos, Mary McDonnell, Katee Sackhoff, Jamie Bamber, James Callis, Tricia Helfer and Grace Park. Battlestar recently returned with the second half of its third original season, immediately following SCI FI's newest original series, The Dresden Files.

"While we never had any doubt that SCI FI would get behind a fourth season of Battlestar, it's thrilling to finally make it official, and for Ron and I to continue using this great genre to investigate the darker corners of society, politics and humanity," executive producer David Eick said in a statement.

Thats great news the BSG has been picked up for another season. I am disappointed that we will have to wait until January for it, and that it may only be half a season.
