Wow. So....this is pretty, amazing! Looks like Lucas is gonna get 2.5 billion or so in cash...

The upside is, more Star Wars movies, probably Lucas free. Could be a positive turn, at least to bring in new blood.

I don't even know what to say about this, is it good? is it bad? Wow.

Disney has treated the Marvel property wonderfully. Look how prominent the Marvel characters are now, compared to DC. New blood for creative behind E7, maybe some of these Pixar guys(an ex-Lucas company as well) can be involved story wise. Gonna be great, I think.

Plus another 1.5 Billion in Disney stock. I love it, turn the film franchise over to Dave Filloni and crew!

I dunno, it doesn't seem right that It's going to be a park attraction now.

Wonder if Disney ever thought of acquiring Star Trek?

Star Tours has been a Disney Park attraction for at least 20 years.

P.S.  I'm pretty pumped by this news!

Story treatments for 7, 8, and 9! Kathleen Kennedy is doing them, gonna be a fun time to be a SW fan.

Well that's a bit of a surprise!

Not that I'm complaining (nor is my son to whom the prospect of new Star Wars is probably something akin to the second coming).

I know it's unnusual here but I don't have a podcast of my own.

I like Disneyland but it's been years since my last visit, I had no idea - seems kind of weird.

Science fiction has a certain amount of inherent danger to keep it interesting, should it be tamed down to family friendly fun?
That used to be known as 'Selling out'.

"In terms of music or art, selling out is associated with attempts to tailor material to a mainstream or commercial audience, for example a musician who alters their material to encompass a wider audience may be labeled by fans who pre-date the change as a sellout."
