I added a new phone line to my account last week.

I just added my gf nice to our Verizon account last week.  until then she was using a non contract phone in which she had to pay $15 a month and get a prepay card.  by adding her to our account it was only an extra $10 per month on the bill.  this seem a heck of a lot cheaper than what we were doing before and she got a new phone too, one of the phones that was offered for free.  this is a lot better for her because it puts her on out text messaging plan with unlimited texting to any carrier.  she is really happy with it. 

  anyone else here has this situation with a family plan?

Yes, my wife and my older son are only 10 extra dollars for the lines with A T & T. It's when data gets involved that prices go up.

  well thats not too bad, but if I add a data pakage its even more, I am debating on if I want to do that.  I would like to get a smart phone but not sure.

My kids are pushing for their own phones.  I have been resisting up to now.  They are still pretty young (12 & 10). When they start doing after school sports & activities, I might be persuaded.
