Current writer of X-Factor for Marvel, with a massive body of work from comics like Incredible Hulk to Aquaman to Fallen Angel, TV like Babylon 5 to Space Cases to Ben 10, and novels from Star Trek to Knight Life to Apropos Of Nothing, and a raconteur in his own right, Peter David is a legendary comics creator. He and his family are in our thoughts and prayers.

Speedy recovery PAD!

Shocking and sad...he's written my favorite Trek novel (Q-Squared). I hope he pulls through without much damage or suffering.

Met him at Dragon Con, pretty much my favorite Trek writer, plus his comic stuff. Great guy, hope he recovers!

Here's a post from Harlan Ellison after his having talked to Katleen David:

PETER DAVID IN HOSPITAL

Yes, I know, since Peter posted on his blog, that many of you have been apprised that my dearest friend had a stroke on his right side, while vacationing with Kathleen and Ariel, his daughter, at Disneyworld in Florida. He apparently began with double-vision and, later last night, his right leg went out. At moment, he's resting easily, with apparently excellent medical attention. Spoke to Kathleen a few minutes ago; I'm sure Peter himself will let those of us who wait helplessly but hopefully, if there is anything for us to do but look on prepared to assist.

Peter David is also one of my favorites. I have enjoyed many of his books and comics. I hope he has a quick recovery.

A sober reminder to take responsibility for our own health.

Here's an update post from his wife Kathleen David:

Sounds like everything came on gradually

he had gotten up because he couldn't sleep and tried to type and couldn't get his hand to work correctly but he didn't want to wake me up and alarm me

having told Peter that he might be having a cardiac episode, he put on his best comic guy voice and said, "Worst Episode Ever."

It is sometimes hard to distinguish between serious symptoms and non-life threatening ones. Glad his 'mind' is OK and hope he recovers.
