Check out this oldie & goodie that I am seeing in the theater tonight:

Silent film Nosferatu - with live musical accompaniment.  This is a cool old theater in our town that has been totally renovated.  I saw 'Jason and the Argonauts' at this place not too long ago.  They also play great oldies & independent films.

Nosferatu is one of the best horror films of the silent era. I would love to see it on the big screen but alas the upcoming remastered Blu-Ray on my 43 inch will have to suffice. November 12th is the release date for anyone interested and Kino is the company releasing it. Their track record for vintage films is excellent. We're fortunate that this film even still exists because Bram Stoker's wife sued the studio that made this film and a court ordered that all copies be destroyed. Fortunately someone was willing to disobey the court and a copy has survived to this day. This film is an important part of film making history. Highly recommended!

I can't tell you how great this was!  The film on the big screen was excellent, but the live musical score really made this a memorable experience.

A group of musicians that score and play to old silent classics.  Really exceptional.
