Here is a crazy idea....maybe put together a monthly podcast playing out the best parts of the RPG? Use audio clips of everybodies characters and mix them together with some sound effects and use a narrator to set the scenes, etc.

Sounds like an ambitious project....maybe someone will run with it?

I am not even sure I have the time to partake in the RPG itself. I may just create a character like "Crewman #5" so you all can kill be off.

Maybe but I'll have to entice Mrs. O to do my lines for me.  I don't have much of a falsetto.  :)

Although a monthly "update" or even a weekly update tacked on the end of Treks in SciFi?  We could take in turns to send in a weekly "report" from our characters?

Or if we're doing a SHORT update, things like PodBean are free as long as you don't need a lot of filespace and don't use a lot of bandwidth monthly.

I would love to see this turn into a kind of radio play, kind of like the guys over in darker projects did with Section 31 files.

Not that I have that kind of tech skills, but i would be willing to offer my time if anyone has the hardware and knowledge.

Neat idea.  I'd be more than happy to participate and host the file on my podcast feed, etc. but I don't have the time to put it together.  I can supply support, some sound effects, music, etc. of course.  Anyone out there that might want to take the lead on this idea?

Well a "radio show" is pretty ambitious.  And it only takes one bad bit of recording (one person with audio issues) and you've got head ache city coordinating.  Now if you can bring in a voice cast into a "studio" and do all the recording etc etc...

I'd be happy to look into doing a weekly "RPG update" and sending it over to you, as an out of character update on the major plot points.  Should have time for that around our own podcast.

I think....

I can host the files on my site, if bandwidth or storage is an issue for Rico.

I think we should take this one step at a time. Let's get the RPG going first and see where it goes. I like the idea of doing updates for Rico to put on his podcast but I think doing a full on audio drama is a bit to much... at this time.

Yeah, I think that would be the point where I would have to say no mas as well. Real life too busy as it is.

Rico

I agree with Kenny.  I'd love to have a few minutes every so often to play on the podcast of a sort of recap of the adventures of the Starship "Whatever."  That would be fun.  Maybe Kenny or Keo could put that together every once in awhile.

Geekyfanboy

yeah I like that idea.. and of course you know I don't mind hearing my voice on your podcast :)

I agree that my original thought is a little ambitious. Heck, I haven't even had any time to make a profile. The motiviation was a little bit selfish, the game sounds really interesting and I would love to be able to keep up with the "story" by listening to the podcast. I think limiting a summary to 1 or 2 minutes would be good for people interested and not too much for people not interested. It may also get people interested in joining the forums or game. I think the format would be good if it was presented similar to the TNG commercials "Next time on Star Trek...." blah, blah. blah.

He he, looks like I missed this one over the weekend.

Scarily enough I'd already thought of an idea along these lines & discussed it with Kenny.

I have every intention of recording some short segments for Rico to play on the main cast in the style of the "This week on Star Trek..." adverts you get on TV when the next episode is due, giving a general summary of what is going on in a good old "Movie Trailer Man" voice :) Either that or doing it in-character as a "Captain's Log".

As Rico says, we'll get the thing started & going first (I'll be kicking things off tomorrow) and I'll see about doing the first one soon.

Well I'll need a stand in voice for Lt. Li if she gets any lines.
