I hate to say anything bad about anything Trek, but this show...

I tried to watch part 2, and I couldn't  finish it.  There were moments when I actually found myself cringing in discomfort.  Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the fact that these guys are doing this for free, but come on...

Some of the acting was just painful to watch.  And the effects...  I'm having trouble getting the "cardboard wrapped in cellophane" set piece from the wall of the turbolift out of my head...

Maybe I'm just spoiled by the fact that I've seen all of these characters in professionally produced Trek features.  I don't know...

I mostly don't like watching TOS anymore because I know all of the plots.  But I have only watched a few minutes of the first part of OGAM.  I am not going to watch more until the third is available.

But since they mention Gods.

Andre Norton does it better than J.K.Rowling

Now that has got to be one of the most twisted uses of the Bible I have yet to run across!

Like I mentioned on yesterday's podcast, I'm enjoying what they are doing.  It's just great to see these actors in a Trek film once again.  The effects aren't quite up to New Voyages, but they don't distract me.  Eagerly awaiting part three.

Part III of the highly-praised internet webisode Star Trek: Of Gods and Men (STOGM) will premiere on Saturday, June 15th at 5:01 p.m. Eastern Time.

A sneak peek of Part 3 is up now.  I just finished watching.  Pretty fun!  Make sure to watch all the credits - they are very funny!

I got that e-mail too. Haven't bothered to watch it yet, still VERY disappointed with this...

For a sneak peek, it certainly shows a lot....

Actually, my opinion has lightened on the show.  Its pretty good.  Not great, but not bad either.

King, it's the full thing. By sneak peek, they mean you get to see it before the release date.

OK, I watched it. Better than the other 2, acting was better, script was ok, effects were still bad BUT I did like all the new ship designs and the various nods to Franz Joseph designs. Was cool to see Gary Mitchell and Grace Lee. Still as a whole, this could have been so much more considering the talent.

I've seen the ship designs before.  Some however were considered "bad" designs via-Roddenberry.  He only approved of 2/4 warp nacelle drives.  1/3 were bad juju.  However, they are unique.  :)

I just got done watching all three.  It was a good story, and it was fun to see everyone.  Not the most amazing thing I've seen, but I applaud their efforts.

I have been and always will be, your friend.

Thats what I meant by the nod to Franz Joseph who penned the Star Trek Technical Manual back in the early '70's. He came up with the 3 nacelle Dreadnaught design and I also saw some of his Scout and Tug configurations as well.

Bryan - I think some of us "old school" fans are the few that recognize those designs.  But it was cool to see them.  I enjoyed the entire thing.  A bit weak here and there but I applaud their efforts, especially on including so many Trek and other SF actors.  Did everyone recognize the old "Boomer" from the first Galactica series?  Lots of little touches like that.  Good times!
