On these trips overseas after a few days the thrill kind of wears off and I start to miss things little by little.  Here's what I am missing right now.....

My family,
Our new puppy Kaylee,
American food,
My TIVO,
English TV / Movies,
My car / driving
Normal amounts of sleep,
and of course having more time to spend online with all of you!

Just some thoughts.  What do you miss when away from home?

Ok, when I am away I miss...

My wife and kids,
friends
Stripey- my cat
Church
My DVR
TNG & Voyager on Spike
My Home PC
Good places to walk
diet pepsi- if I can't find some

In the eight months I have been participating on the board I haven't had to be away from you all because of fast internet connections and a laptop!  :)

Oh gosh - I forgot a biggie.  I miss the weather in Michigan right now.  It's way too hot here and I'm not a big fan of living in air conditioning all the time.  I do miss my home PC too Rick.  Laptops just are not the same.

I've been away from home for 10 months and still have 8 left.  The things I miss the most are:

Family and friends
American Football
Sunday morning long runs with my running team
Our favorite local restaurants
Our local paper and a cup of coffee at our Starbucks
My local pub
My 56" HDTV

Definitely my own bed
My MST3K collection...it is what I fall asleep to at night...puts a smile on my face.
Just mainly the "comfort level" I guess....I am just never quite...."right" when away from home....Does that make any sense or am I just a loon?
I think it was Socrates who spoke the immortal words:  I drank WHAT?

You're not a loon Darth.. I'm with you.. I enjoy vacations but man is it nice to be back at home  and have my creature comforts around me.

I just came back from a business trip to the coast. I missed FRESH air. I'm not a big fan of scorching, humid, salt airâ€"it clings to you. It's hot enough here in Texasâ€" throw in 100 degree temps, humidity and salt air on top of that and the heaviness of it all can strangle you.  :wacko

I worked in it for eight hours, two days in a row during a photoshoot. And we lugged equipment up several three story towers, several times a day, in order to photograph park guests as they rode down the drop slides. I feel bad for folks like my dad who work in temperatures like that every day. But I digress.

I agree with Duffster. The biggest thing I missed was my own bed. The mattress at the hotel was not very comfortable.  Dave got to go with me, so I didn't have to miss him. :)
I missed my pets
my garden
I can't believe I'm going to admit this...my Xbox 360  :blush

Well back home now, so most of the things I miss I have taken care of.  One funny thing is I don't miss my bed.  We need a new mattress and hotel ones are usually better for me.

we got one of those sleep number beds and I sleep awesome now.  It really helped.

I mean if the Bionic Woman reccomends it... it can't be all bad!
