I heard an interview on the car radio one sunny California morning as I drove to work.

KLOS's Mark & Brain where speaking to a young talented musician who had just performed his cover of Led Zeppelin's - Kashmir......and it was awesome!

A talented musician, Kevin Gilbert like so many others is gone before his time.

His legacy is worth a quick look -

I'm a bit "out there" from all of you.   Mostly classical - its mind boggling to think the volume of music they produced and the fact its still being played almost 400 years later.  Secondly, older christian (Keith Green, Steve Green, Michael W.,  Don Moen, etc) and some broadway.  With iTunes I have a mixed bag - John Denver, Bill Cosby, Sinatra, James Darren (mostly because of DS9) and others.

Good gosh -- its like I'm writing out a personals ad.

I listen to the radio where and tune in to stations that play rock, metal, and some pop and alternative. Right now, I'm re-listening to a couple of Disturbed albums. I can't say their latest one is better than their older ones. Avenged Sevenfold is actually quite good.

I also like trance (Delerium does have some nice tunes Davekill) especially the mixed trance CDs. I have a few classical music CDs. Beethoven's 9th and The Moldau are masterpieces. I also like to listen to a jazz internet radio station (from Switzerland) on Shoutcast.com.

I grew up on Spanish music and I like some of the Hispanic (especially Mexican) music from the late 80s and 90s. I cannot stand Mexican banda music though. :shootgun:   Because I grew up on Spanish music, I missed out on a lot of music sung in English. So I'm barely discovering Metallica, "Obey your master!"  :metallica:

Oh, and I have a copy of the Lion King soundtrack which I listen to about every 4 or 6 months. I think I love that CD. . .

I used to play Keith Green and all of thos artists you mentioned on the Christian Radio station.  I did the morning show, it was a blast.  My wife's favorite is Keith Green, we have the CDs with all of his stuff on it.

I have been and always will be, your friend.

That sounds like fun.  I can't remember the last time they played his music on the radio.  I have his greatest hits.  I just started reading No Compromise - what a story.

I lean more towards classic rock, but I sometimes branch out to other stuff.

Clapton's my all-time favorite.  Lately, I'm not sure why, I've been listening to a bit of Zeppelin and Skynrd.

I usually keep an iTunes playlist with 20-30 songs that I'm into at the moment.  Right now, it's got some Tom Petty, Jack Johnson, Velvet Revolver, Daughtry,  Jake Shimabukura (awesome ukelele music!!!), Evanescence, Travis Tritt, Garth Brooks, Susan Tedeschi, Ronald Jenkees, some tracks from the Last of the Mohicans soundtrack, and "Common People" by the great William Shatner.

Jen

Travis Tritt...Haven't heard him in a while. Is he still making albums? I used to listen to his music in high school. I don't listen to the radio much anymore.

Seems i am way off track from most of you, the overriding theme seems to be heavy metal, while i can see the attraction (i do have a few bits and pieces in my collection) my passion however in for jazz, fusion, acid jazz, soul and jazz funk

Hey all,

I listen to a mix of classical (romantic / 20th century) music, soundtracks and mellow rock I guess you'd say.. stuff like Sting, Police, beatles, Whitlams(aussie band), Billy Joel etc....

But lately I've been busy listening to podcasts such as TREKS IN SCI-FI of course! along with Slice of Sci-Fi, lipstick aliens, kidney talk(for kidney failure patients), cat lovers podcast, Wingin' it 3D and a number of others. They keep me entertained!

I think it was Socrates who spoke the immortal words:  I drank WHAT?

I agree with the Rockabilly... I love old rock - we are talking 50's early 60's stuff.  Actually, I just got back from a trip to Memphis. If you are a music fan- that is a great place to visit.  Anyone ever been?

Boothanew

i like a little everything..but i honestly can't stand country..(not trying to offend anyone.)
You should look at my full list before judging my musical taste...i'm quite eclectic.
