We also watched the pilot of Journeyman tonight.  It was pretty cool.  hard to follow at first, but the mystery of it all was rather fascinating.  This should be really good.

Yup -- already watched 3 shows.   I'll still watch them next week on big bad HD -- alas, its only a 50" set.  Hey, maybe if buy him a turkey club, cole slaw (he won't eat it) and a cherry coke -- Rico will let me watch the shows at his place  :biggrin

Rico

Yeah - sure come on over.  Seriously - how about Monday night?  Big premiere night then.

When I clicked this link I was kind of wondering what Journeyman had to do with Star Trek but now I see that this is a discussion of a new TV show. Guess I'll have to check it out!

So I watched this new series and I enjoyed it.. like Moyer I was a bit confused as to why he was jumping  and I'm sure they will explain more as the series goes on but it was enjoyable. I like that fact ***Spoilers***I really liked that you thought through out the episode that he was there to save the man's life but really he was there to make sure this man's unborn child was born to be a great man... that was awesome. I look forward to next weeks episode.

Watched it this morning --  HD-DVR !!        :smilie_nono:SPOILERS AHEAD:smilie_nono:

yes, it was a bit hard to follow.  I think he travelled to 1987 and 1997.   Its a nice twist on Quantum Leap.   Loved the ending - I would have been disappointed had he not proved the time travel to his wife.  The involvement with his old girlfriend was also good.  It will be interesting to see how this develops.

I watched this one last night.  It was interesting.  I thought it was unusual that they didn't kind of explain everything of the how and why he is moving through time in the first episode.  Obviously his "dead" ex-girlfriend seems to know something.  I like the actors/characters and will keep watching but I'm afraid this show is too much like "Quantum Leap."  And I really loved "Quantum Leap" so they have a lot to live up to.

This is the main reason we did not watch. With so many good shows on TV we have to pick and choose and unfortunately the advertisements for the show looked to much like Quantum Leap for us. Is there anything that really seperates itself from Quantum Leap?

Ripley: Ash. Any suggestions from you or Mother?
Ash: No, we're still collating.
Ripley: [Laughing in disbelief] You're what? You're still collating? I find that hard to believe.

Rico

The big difference so far is he seems to jump back and forth from his own time to alternate times.  Unlike on "Quantum Leap" where he was lost forever in other time periods.  So this makes things hard for his present day life since it seems the time he is gone plays out in real time for him.  So if he vanishes into the past for 2 days, when he comes back 2 days have gone by for him.  So that's one big change right there.

So the second episode was okay but didn't grab me. I'll continue to watch, but if I miss it I'll won't go searching for it. I'm interested in finding out why he is jumping.  For the second episode he help give birth to a girl who would later help a guy with cancer. Is this guy important.. was this just some random guy or is there something bigger in the works. Are all these folks he is help creating/saving part of a bigger plan? So many questions.

I watched the first two episodes, and I have really enjoyed them actually. I like how he moves back and forth from his time to the times of the people he is tracking. I like as well that he is not going really far in the past as well, helps keep it a bit more grounded and current. The first episode, after I figured out was happening, was really cool, and the ending was great and not what I was expecting. The Second episode was really cool as well, at first I thought that the whole helping give birth thing would be dull, but that was a small part. I liked the end again as well. I did not know what to make of his conversation with the cancer patient at the end, but then to hear that he is the one saved instead of the girls father was cool, and then for him to go on to be a pilot and fly humanatarian missions is nice. Just like the first with the boy going on to save people in a bus. I will keep watching this show, and hope that it lasts, but knowing my luck it will get cancelled.
