the show was a little well...

lets say you're eating dinner, and the food really tastes like... salt..

the show needed other spices, herbs and stuff.

it was like, "we don't need actors, just models."

however it still does not top Flash Gordon in retardedness. :)

I will be honest, I enjoyed Knight Rider. I do see where it has some flaws, and lacks some polish of some other prime time shows, but for what it is, it delivered an entertaining show for me. I really disliked the TV movie, so was pleasantly surprised with this first episode.
I am not sure if it will last the long term, as the complaints some of you had, might be what sinks it in the long run, when it is compared to other shows. I enjoyed it a lot, but it feels more like I cable show to me, then a network show. I thought the effects with KITT and the action sequences were well done, the acting and some cringe worthy scenes need a bit or work.

If they called it something to do with a  robot car and not Knight rider I would ease up on the hate of the show, KITT turning into a truck COME ON!

Well, I watched it and didn't hate it.  It's kind of fun but the show has a lot of problems.  Script for episode one was all over the place.  The characters don't seem real at all to me.  The acting was pretty bad.  And frankly there is almost too much tech.  KITT seems to be able to do just about anything now - but it can't put out a fire on it's body??  Hmmm....    Anyway, I'll probably watch now & then and see if it gets any better but for me it was pretty weak, I thought.

Blackride

I found nothing at all good about this show. I agree with the review below by Mania (aka Cinescape). I did enjoy the new show Mentalist though which caught me off guard...

Ripley: Ash. Any suggestions from you or Mother?
Ash: No, we're still collating.
Ripley: [Laughing in disbelief] You're what? You're still collating? I find that hard to believe.

NBC sends good message to bad show, picks up order for more scripts; will Knight ride on?

Super sports car K.I.T.T. is closer to becoming a pickup. NBC has inched closer to ordering a full season of Knight Rider, defying odds and critics' voices at the same time.

The network has ordered more scripts of the freshman series, says The Hollywood Reporter, which is generally a good inkling that Knight Rider will be give a full-season pickup.

This probably comes as a shock to the many television critics across the country, as Knight Rider has been totaled by boob-tube journalists and is by far the worst reviewed show of the new season, according to Metacritic.com.

Still, struggling NBC has surprisingly ordered four more scripts of the remake. So far, the ratings have been a bit of a disappointment since Knight Rider went to series. The mini-series/backdoor pilot that aired earlier this year did surprisingly well, but since its regular debut last month, numbers have been down and sliding.

Knight Rider stars Justing Bruening as Michael Traceur, who forms a crime-fighting duo with his high-tech sentient car K.I.T.T. Also starring are Deanna Russo as the token hottie (and she does a great job at that), Sydney Tamiia Poitier, and Bruce Davison.

The only other show to receive an order for more scripts so far has been CBS' Mentalist, which has performed stellar. New shows 90210 and Fringe are the only two to have already received full-season pickups.

lol, well unless they call it Transformers, The rogue trooper and it is revealed that kitt is a transformer and goes berserk killing everyone except Micheal I may watch, then the acting would not be as bad seeing only one human is alive

I've been avoiding the show, but some poor guy in my TV Programming class had to review this for a project, and he showed a two-minute clip of it in class.  It was... pretty bad, to say the least.  And the guy even said that it was the only good part of the pilot.  So I definitely agree with Rico when he says that there is no justice.

I just saw KITT transform from a large black van into a black mustang.  That's all I needed to see.

New "Knight Rider" Gets Rebooted
By Garth FranklinTuesday, November 11th 2008 7:54am

NBC will reboot "Knight Rider" yet again as the critically-panned new incarnation fails to bring in viewers.

Despite the unanimously woeful reviews, the mini-series remake of the classic 1982 show early in the year was successful enough to green light a weekly series. That show premiered in September with only a modest audience of around 10 million, and over the subsequent six episodes the show has lost half its audience.

Yet three weeks ago NBC gave the series a full season order of 22 episodes, leading many to ask the simple question - why? Well now its been revealed.

According to Reuters actors Bruce Davison, Sydney Tamiia Poitier and Yancey Arias did not see their contracts renewed for the 'back nine' episodes and in fact a mid-season two-parter will retool the series which aims to bring the show back in line with the original series.

Showrunner Gary Scott Thompson says "We're moving away from the terrorist-of-the-week formula and closer to the original, making it a show about a man and his car going out and helping more regular people, everymen."

That, along with cost-cutting, means the show will go on with only five regulars - Mike (Justin Bruening), Sarah (Deanna Russo), Billy (Paul Campbell), Zoe (Smith Cho) and of course the car itself - KITT (voiced by Val Kilmer).

Looks like it's pretty much over for KITT....

Inside sources confirm that NBC has decided not to order any more episodes of Knight Rider this season and will close production after the cast and crew complete the 17th episode, which is filming this week.

So will the show live on to see a season two? Find out...

According to sources close to the series, there is no official kill order on Knight Rider, so the future of the show depends almost entirely the ratings for the remaining 10 unaired episodes. The decision on season two will come next year.

As you may have heard, NBC has been working under KITT's hood for a while now, trying to rev up the ratings. Bruce Davison, Yancey Arias and Sydney Tamiia Poitier were let go earlier this year in an effort to tighten and brighten storylines.

What do you think of this news? Based on the fan emails we get, many of you are watching and enjoying this series. But you'll need to help spread the word among your friends if you want this series to stick around.

Did not think much of this new version at all. I was a BIG fan or the original series but they seem to have tried to do TOO much technologically with KITT in this show at the expense of plot, good acting and writing. I mean, just how many vehicles can KITT become? Feels like I'm watching a commercial at times...

Despite all of this advanced kit (no pun intended) including the fancy 'nanobot rengeneration' or whatever it is called that repairs all damage, all you have to do is turn KITT off and you can wreck the car! LOL

Why do shows like this get picked up and shows like Journeyman get cancelled?
