To me it sounds alot like Joss Whedon's Angel about a Vampire turned good, PI in Los Angeles. But of course I'll be checking it out tonight.

Do you think there are “No Such Thing As Vampires?”

After a series of vampire-style murders plague L.A., immortal investigator Mick St. John, played by Alex O’Loughlin, sets out to find the culprits and re-connects with a woman, Internet reporter Beth Turner (Sophia Myles), from his past at a crime scene, on the series premiere of “MOONLIGHT,” airing tonight â€" Friday, September 28 at 9:00 ET/PT on the CBS Television Network right after the season premiere of “Ghost Whisperer.”

Mick St. John is a captivating, charming- and immortal- private investigator from Los Angeles who defies the traditional blood-sucking norms of his vampire tendencies by using his wit and powerful supernatural abilities to help mortals and keep them safe. In a life-altering twist of fate, Mick was “bitten” 60 years ago by his new bride, the seductive Coraline. Forever 30 years of age, Mick’s as handsome and charismatic as the day he was “turned,” and he eschews others of his kind who view humans only as a source of nourishment. With only a handful of like-minded confidantes for company, including the eternally young, wealthy and mischievous Josef, a hedge fund trader who relishes his uniqueness, Mick fills his infinite days protecting the living. But one night years ago, a single act of kindness changed Mick when he saved a young girl’s life, making him want to be a better vampire. Now their paths cross again and Mick develops a distinctive bond with Beth Turner who has grown into a beautiful, ambitious Internet investigative reporter. Reconnecting with her unleashes feelings Mick knows he can’t pursue without exposing the part of him that would make him a monster in Beth’s eyes. As Mick lives between two realities, fighting his adversaries among the undead and falling in love, he discovers the mysteries and pleasures that a valuable life has to offer.

Already have my TIVO set for this.  Been missing a good vampire show for awhile now.

Yeah.....we are gonna watch this as well.....It's on the same time as Las Vegas though which the wife and I both enjoy as well.
I think it was Socrates who spoke the immortal words:  I drank WHAT?

My wife and I watch Las Vegas also.  Stupid show, but fun.

Tonight's season premiere was directed by Robert Duncan McNeill, Voyager's Tom Paris.

I loved this show!  Maybe my favorite of all the new shows this fall that I have seen so far.  It has a real nice vibe and feel to it.  And I'm a sucker for vampire's trying to do good shows.    :vampire
It's on Friday nights on CBS.  Watch the first episode online if you missed it here:  http://alpha.cbs.com/primetime/moonlight/

Just watched the premiere free on iTunes and loved it. After watching a lot of vampire-centric TV and movies it's good to see a fresh take that doesn't feel entirely like recycled storyline. Too bad about the Friday time slot.

I spent the whole episode trying to figure out why Beth was so dang familiar to me. Turns out after a quick trip to IMDB that she was Isolde in Tristan & Isolde as well as Erika in Underworld.

Still liking this show.  Episode 2 was good last night too!

Darth Gaos

Yeah, the wife and I are totally enjoying this show....
