Hope this is officially confirmed soon. I was pretty sure Shatner would find a way to get into this movie. Cool news.

It's too bad that they seem to be jerking Bill around on this. He should be in the movie. But it is possible he doesn't have as integral a part and maybe doesn't just want to do a quick walk on thing. We will see how this turns out.

I think you hit the nail on the head.

I admire Shatner; his Captian Kirk is one of my childhood heroes. Despite what detractors might say, I think that he is a very dynamic actor. With that being said, he does have a bit of an ego, however. I hope that he and Abrahms come to some kind of compromise; I'd love to see him appear in the new film. I just hope that Abrahm's doesn't damage the film's plot to accommodate an appearance by Kirk.
