There were instructions in another thread on how to  create a banner, but all that information is gone now. So here's the break down of how to do this if you've never done it before:

  • First, copy the code I provided below.  Copy and paste that code into a text editor like Microsoft Word.

  • Next, Find your signature banner in the post that Rico put up. Act as though you are going to save it to your desktop. Do this so you can see the name of the banner file... you'll need this to edit the code. Write the banner file name  EXACTLY as it appears.

  • Next go to your character profile page and copy the URL for that page and paste it into the same Word document. INCLUDE ALL OF IT INCLUDING HTTP://WWW.

  • Then go to the navigation bar at the top of the forums... right under the heading "Treks In Sci Fi Forums 2.0" and click on  "Profile".

  • On that page, you will see a menu on the left. Click on "Forum Profile Information".

  • Go to the word doc you made and copy the code again. Scroll down to "Custom Title" and in the Signature field on the Forum Profile Information page and paste the code... in the "Signature" field.

  • Copy the Character Profile URL that you pasted into your word document.  Paste it over "Insert character profile URL here". I will post a pic to illustrate this...

  • Now, where "ChangeBannerFileNameHere" is, at the end of the code, type in your banner file name... the name you copied down exactly as it appeared when you attempted to save the banner. Click on "Change Profile" at the bottom to save. Go to a page where you have posted and see if your signature banner is below your post.

Here's a example code for you to use to copy and edit:

Hello people. Please update your banners if you are an RPG member. I'm going to remove the duplicate post full of old RPG Banner graphics because I've had several people who were unsure of where the new banners were. If you don't update them, and I delete the old thread, your Tiberius RPG banners will disappear and you'll have a blank box in their place.

Again, if you are no longer writing and have no plan to ever return, please discontinue the use of your banner. They're intended for RPG members only—they are an award of sorts, for active participation.

I can easily just remove the old files (if needed) from the server.  That should help.  Let me know Jen if you want me to do that.

Meds

I got mine working after reading Jen's guide above. Took me a while but i'm really happy to see my banner under my posts. Thanks Jen.

With Safari, all you have to do is right click the image and copy image address.

then go to your profile and type img (paste the copied address) /img but you have to put the img  and /img in [    ]

I did it! I did it! The geek groupie actually figured it out! I have a banner and... it's clickable and... it only took me two days. Maybe more, but I lost track of time... Anyway, hoop-de-doo!
