Jen & Feathers - (or anyone with two banners).

I was playing around in an animation program and came up with this below.  This one is uploaded Jen to the server.  Feel free to alter your signature and use it if you want.  Thought it was kind of cool and it save a little room at the bottom of your posts.  Feathers - if you like it, I can make one for you too.

Thanks Rico. I didn't like that my signature was so tall. Your gif solves the problem.  Can I send you the original JPGs so you can make the gif with a fresh file? Mine is suffering from some pixelatation on the portrait of Sevryll.

Yes, I've adopted mine already since it brings the post size down nicely.

Thanks!

I know it's unnusual here but I don't have a podcast of my own.

Jen - Pixelation on Sevryll?  Boy, I sure don't see that.  You aren't talking about the transition image are you?  I have a huge monitor with very good resolution and I don't see that.  Feel free to send me the original files, but I'm not sure it will change much.  If you don't like it, feel free to keep using the big double image if you want.

I didn't say I don't like it, Rico. :)  I also have a huge monitor with awesome resolution...and super hu-mon vision. Angela says it's my real life super power. ;) Again, thank you.

What resolution and monitor size?  I'm running a Dell 27" at 1920 x 1200.  And again - I don't see it.  And I like to think I can see pretty well too.  Does anyone else see this?

Yeah. The portrait is a bit darker than the other one. There is also a speckled effect in the blue background that seems to wash it out a little bit bit. It kind of looks like a fingerprint swirl in the blue.

Rico

Yes - that's part of the animation effect that I was talking about during the transition.  I encoded it for the best quality I could off the banner images.  But an animated .gif file is not by any means the best resolution out there, of course.

I have a Samsung SyncMaster 2232BW 2 ms 3000:1 Dynamic Contrast 1680 X 1050 and Apple HD Cinema widescreen 1920 x 1200 Display. I'll attach a screen shot of what I'm seeing. I don't if the screen shot will help, but the description Chris gave is what I was referring to. You're right about the gif. It further reduces the resolution of the small res jpg, which causes the pixelation. It's just the nature of the beast. :)  That's the only reason I asked if I could send you a freshly exported jpg. When the portrait is reduced, like I've done in the banner, it loses a bit of the detail anyway. :) I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make this into a big deal. As I've mentioned before, I'm a graphic designer by trade. I tend to be a little more picky and sometimes that's to a fault.

This is what happens when you take your work home with you Jen ;)

I think I'm just as protective over my work stuff, but my job has little to no translation into my leisure activities.

Having said that...given that a large part of my job revolves around written words (system requirements), the closest I get is the RPG writing...edit my posts at your peril!

I know it's unnusual here but I don't have a podcast of my own.

Rico

Jen, do you have the ability to make an animated version like I did?  Perhaps it would be best if you handled it.

Allen

Herm's been here a whole season. Is he entitled to one of these nifty banners?

Yes, but Jen is the creator of the banners and so please ask her via PM or email
:)

Allen

I don't want to bother Jen, she's so busy. Can I make my own?
