Cool, looking forward to this different take on the CON.

I'm glad you liked it, Rico. I'm getting excited for ACC 2014. We already started a few Pinterest Boards to plan our cosplay. To date, will be the ladies of the Hobbit and LOTR and Ladies of Avengers. I'm hoping to convince them to wear the TOS dresses again at least one day.

I'm going as Arwen in her chase dress. Angela, who also wants to be Arewn, is going to wear the funeral gown. I guess theirs room at the con for two Arwens, we finally decided that was okay after a short debate.  "Sith Jen" will be Tauriel and our friend Stephanie will be Eowyn, wearing funeral gown.

As far as Avengers go, I'm going to be Maria Hill and "Sith Jen" is going as Black Widow again. I'm not sure what the others have decided.

Both those characters suit you well Jen.  I'm trying to recall how "sword-friendly" the con in Austin is?  I know they sell them.  Can you carry a sword around?

I know we chatted briefly about this recently.  I'm thinking of being the "white" Nick Fury (as he was earlier in comics).  As far as LOTR - possibly Legolas or Aragorn.  I have to try and do things that won't require a lot of big props to ship down south.  :)

If you're serious about going one day in TNG uniforms (Nemesis/First Contact) with me, what about going as Zremm and Sevryll? You'd have to sit for make up though. And you'd need some antennae...and a white wig. Could be a LOT of trouble for you, but it would be soooooo awesome! :D

If you want to go as a vulcan, like me... I found these. Um, as a warning, this site also sells other appendages. I accidentaly came across them. I saw the WARNING they posted, but thought it was blood and guts they were preparing me for. Not the case!  :shocked

As for swords, I don't think  you can bring them. I don't know though. I was thinking of having a prop sword...or none at all. You could probably make a prop that was sheathed. No blade, just a hilt that's molded into a scabbard. Or something like that. Didn't you pose with a pirate? Was he wearing a sword? I don't remember seeing one in the pic.

Yeah, not sure I'd be up for Andorian makeup - maybe.  My other long time idea is to finish off my Indiana Jones outfit and go one day as Indy.

P.S.  Hey, maybe Gandalf for LOTR.  I think a staff would be allowed.

Rico

Ahh, nix the Gandalf thing for me.  Just read Jeff is probably going for Gandalf.  Leaning towards Aragorn then and some type of "fake" sword.

I found few nice wooden LOTR swords on Etsy. They're for children, but I'm wondering if I could ask for a adult sized sword for my Arwen Chase Dress costume.

Yep, Indiana Jones rocks. :) I have the hat. I have thought as going as Fem Indi, but I've been coveting the TNG costume for years. I am leaning that way for the Friday Free For All... that's what I"m calling it because I'm the only one thinking that far ahead in our group at the moment. Well, I take that back. Angela is the only one who can't think that far ahead. She can't get excited about it right now. :D

NEW: "Anomaly of ST:TNG: Rascals"... or "Prepubescent Picard is Phunny".  It's a fun episode from the sixth season of Star Trek the Next Generation. Not the best of Trek, but certainly one of the more entertaining of TNG.

In this installment, we chat about where the child actors are now, how they did in their roles as well as the script and directing by Spock's son Adam. Included are comments from our pal Rico, Scott and Stephen. We also announce our upcoming LIVE broadcast which will be March 1, 2014 at 2 PM CST on Mixlr.

Thanks to those who commented (Rico) and thanks for listening!

I updated the file, for some reason the quality was horrible and was creating errors in our feed. It sounds much better now.

Here's a link to our latest episode, which was a show celebrating our 7th anniversary. We played clips from our favorite episodes and talked about our plans for this year's Anomaly season, among other things. We also placed a bonus track at the VERY end of the mp3.

Hi guys! I hope those of you who are dads had a great Fathers Day!  In honor of dads everywhere, Angela and I just released an episode review of The Visitor. Unbeknownst to us, Rico did the same way back in episode #58! What year was that anyway??? 2007? 2008? Trek Movie also reviewed The Visitor for Fathers Day in 2009 or 9.  I just realized this after searching for images in Google for our show notes; among other things, I found a few pictures that Rico posted for his episode review of The Visitor. An excellent choice in father/son episodes, Rico!

I hope you all will listen despite the fact others have reviewed it. It's the first ever DS9 commentary episode Angela and I have recorded together. I recorded an Ezri vs Jadzia episode six years ago with Kenny as a guest host when Angela was on "maternity leave". Anyway, because we're women, our review will no doubt offer another perspective on The Visitor and fathers in general. We talk about our own dads and how they encouraged us to grow up to be the women we are today—fostering our geekdom and ensuring us we could be anything we put our minds to. We are blessed to have the dads we do and this episode is for them and for all dads like them. :) Cheers to you!
