Watched and loved last nights episode, especially when Claire has her Mom shoot her! Hey, my wife is saying now that Sylar is on "her list". Should I be concerned?

;)

So do you think Parkman knows what Daphne is trying to do?  I think he has to.

Ok, just watched this week's episode.  Now.. I'm not trying to be too critical, but the Pratelli's dad is not a good actor.  Everyone else acts cirlces around him.  That isn't normal for this series.  I wonder what gives?  Other than that... great episode... many things happened.

"Heroes" Duo Fired By NBC
By Garth FranklinMonday, November 3rd 2008 12:19am

"Heroes" writers/co-executive producers Jesse Alexander and Jeph Loeb were fired on Sunday reports Variety.

The pair led day-to-day production operation under the direction of creator/executive producer Tim Kring since the show's inception.

The reason for the dismissal has been due to "NBC executives frustration with the creative direction of the show" which has struggled in the ratings in its third season.

The series has also been dealing with hefty budget overruns going beyond the already large $4 million per-episode pricetag.

Just read that Kenny,  sad.  I hope the show's formula still works as well as it has.

Heroes' Kring To Simplify

Tim Kring, creator and executive producer of NBC's Heroes, has been under pressure to simplify the show's storylines and refocus on character development, Variety reported.

There's been a feeling that he's delegated too much responsibility for writing and story development to his top writing lieutenants, co-executive producers Jesse Alexander and Jeph Loeb, and over the weekend, at the prodding of NBC executives, Kring made the tough call to let Alexander and Loeb go from the show that the duo had helped shepherd since season one.

Kring has reportedly assured NBC and Universal Media Studios, which produces the series, that he intends to focus on simplifying what's been criticized, even by ardent fans, as an overly complex storytelling structure to get back to the show's comic-bookish good-vs.-evil themes and to emphasize character development more than plot twists.

The thinking is that his focus is needed most in breaking stories and refining the tone of the show for the remainder of its third season, the trade paper reported.

Heroes is averaging 10.4 million viewers and a 5.1 rating/12 share among adults 18-49 so far in its third season, a 21 percent drop in total viewers and an 18 percent decline in adults 18-49 from its second season (which was cut short by the writers' strike).

Yeah, and bring back her camera guy from the first season to team up with him....  Claire meets boys from the past.

Rico

I'm really enjoying this season.  It will be interesting to see what this does to the rest of year 3.

Feathers

Do you think the impact will be that obvious? They're somewhat obliged to tie up all that's started in this season and I think that could take a while.

I know it's unnusual here but I don't have a podcast of my own.

Heroes, Villains Past Revealed

NBC's Heroes digs into the past and Eric Roberts' previously deceased character, Company bad guy Thompson, returns in the Nov. 10 episode "Villains," creator and executive producer Tim Kring told SCI FI Wire. Of course, being dead doesn't mean you're out when it comes to Heroes, does it Niki/Jessica/Tracy?

"'Villains' is in many ways the origin story for our villains," Kring said. "You get a little bit more of the origin story of Sylar [Zachary Quinto] and then you get the origin story of Arthur Petrelli [Robert Forster]. Then also some of the Primatech story as well." The Primatech story involves Claire's mother, Meredith Gordon, played by Jessalyn Gilsig.

The irony of having an episode named "Villains" in Heroes "Volume Three: Villains" isn't lost on Kring, but he promises a "cool" episode that will extend the show's mythology.

"We go back basically a year before the pilot started," Kring said. "We dig into the whole idea of the Petrelli family when they were actually a family and Arthur was part of the picture. We learn all sorts of little family secrets in that episode."

"Volume Three: Villains" is the first of two volumes slated for this season. "Villains"' volume finale will air on Dec. 15, with "Volume Four: Fugitives" premiering the day after the Superbowl, Kring said.

Interesting episode last night.  We learned quite a bit.  But some things still are kind of in question.  Oh, and I'm really disliking Arthur Petrelli.  One thing I have a problem with is WHY he is doing everything he is doing.  I have a problem with villains that seem to have little to no reason for what they do.  I would have expected to learn more of that in a flashback type episode.  I mean to order your son to be killed??  I can't even imagine that or the reasons behind it.  Why couldn't he just put the mind whammy on Nathan?  Seems weird to me.

jedijeff

I agree Rico, I dont like Arthur Petrelli either. Partly because he just seems like a really bad guy, and the other part I have no idea still why he is such a bad guy, or his reasons for being that way. I am hoping this season will give me those reasons, and I suspect that it will. I did really like to see the Company in action as well, with Noah and Thompson out on assignment. Thought it was cool that Noah and Elle basically pushed Sylar into being a bad guy.

Last nights episode was hard to follow at times, jumping all around, but it was good.  Arthur, or the guy that played him, did a much better acting job in last night's episode.  I didn't like his acting the first time we saw him, eeeek.  I liked the show, and the end?  WHAT???  HIRO!  Peach Pie...  Goth finger shooter... hmmm.  It was all pretty cool.
