I really enjoyed that book though it got mixed reviews.

Just started reading "Neverwhere" by Neil Gaiman, and I finished reading "Fray" by Joss Whedon a couple of days ago.

"Neverwhere" was a bit of a tricky read for me.  I liked it, but it's a strange book.

I'm reading Sand And Stars, which is an omnibus containing
"Spock's World" and "Sarek". One is by A.C. Crispin (one of my favorite authors) and Diane Duane. So far so good. :)

I enjoyed both of those.  Hey while this thread is clicking - if anyone feels like sending in a book review (doesn't have to be Trek) for the podcast that would be great to hear.   ;)

I mainly picked up the book because I've heard Neil Gaiman is an excellent writer and I remember looking through a graphic novel version of "Neverwhere" and thinking it was a really interesting concept. That, and "Stardust" and "Coraline" were checked out of the library already, so I thought I'd give it a go. ;) I like what little I've read of it so far, and I can't wait to get home so that I can read more.

I'm still reading 'Paul Of Dune' By Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson.  It is set one year after Paul becomes the ruler of Dune before 'Children Of Dune'.
It shows how everything is not so cut and dry being a holy messiah.  How many still hate you and will never join you.  And how the jihad is getting out of control.  Many questions are raised in this book.  Is what Paul doing right for the universe, or is it just a blood bath like the ancient machines did.?
A good read for those who love Dune.

I'm reading 'The Dark Volume' by G.W Dahlquist, sequel to 'The Glass Books of the Dream Eaters' which was too awesome for words... weird steampunk-esque mystery thriller sci-fi-y story.
This question has baffled mankind for all eternity... why don't sheep shrink in the rain?

[/quoteI recommend you find some of the issues of the comic "Sandman" which Neil Gaiman wrote for DC Comics during the early to mid 1990's. Really good stuff.

Re-reading an old favorite of mine- Snow Crash.  It isn't often that I find a sci-fi book that actually makes me gleefully laugh out loud. :)

I'm finishing up the Star Trek Destiny Trilogy and I'm ... just WOW. It totally changes things and there is already a follow up book.

Destiny was some of the best Star Trek reading ever!

I read a Singluar Destiny after and although it's good it's not quite the enjoyment that the trilogy was. I am currently struggling through the latest Titan book "Over The Torrent Sea". I am about halfway and all I can say is ... ugh! It gets way too bogged down in biology for me to enjoy without enough interesting crew moments to compensate.

Would you believe I am reading the Star Wars original trilogy? Been a long time since I read those! Although much closer to the screenplays than some of the earlier treatments, interesting difference in dialogue. I'm on ESB right now.

Kevin, I agree about the Titan series, it can get really slow.

I have just started reading "Watchmen." Now this is the first graphic novel I have ever read and I have to say I love it. I've never even bought a comic as an adult let alone taken them seriously. Started reading yesterday and I'm so enjoying it. It's a totally different way for me to read and I just don't know why I didn't start before. Seriously, this could be the start of somethng totally new for me. What to buy next, graphic novel wise.  :)
