My mind exploded on this episode like no other, but REALLY good time travel ones do.  ;)

Excellent show, I would have been very unhappy had this not been renewed.  Can't wait to see what happens next!!

I watched the season finale with my wife last night
I agreed with Joby a bit in that the advertising led you to believe something in regards to a character dieing. I have to admit, when Walternate shot Olivia, it did not really shock me at all, since they were in the future, and I had the feeling that could be corrected. But like the others mentioned, that was the catalyst for Peter to go back to change the events that led to the point in the future. Peter erasing himself was a jaw dropper for me, and just makes the wait for next season all the longer, as I want to see how that is handled. Maybe a bit of a cheat as well, was the introduction of a new Fringe member, which was Olivia's niece Ella in the future. But I thought that was ok, as to be honest, I did not think they needed to add another cast member, as I like the regulars and regular reoccurring characters.

Maybe a bit of a surprise for me as well, was that this Episode was focused pretty much in the future, so all the reoccurring characters that had been leading up to this were not around. No Alternate Lincoln Lee, No Alternate Charlie, Very little Red Verse, no Sam Weiss, which is cool in that it means (or I hope) will be worked into next season. I am wondering as well if Sam Weiss could possibly be a key to bringing back Peter, since he had the information about the Machine, and he might still remember him, since the others do not. The Observers would know as well, but they would probably keep that information to themselves as not to disrupt the timeline like they had dome in the past.

Also, some of the stories that came out of the LSD episode I guess will be carrying over to next season, such as the man in Olivia's mind that she said would kill her (Though I guess in a sense she was already killed), but I am guessing that her killing in the future was not the one she was referring to.

I agree with Al, Fringecasting is a great podcast, I listen to it every week, and Wayne and his Co-Host Dan have some great comments. Another one I listen to as well is The Fringe Podcast, the host's also give some very good insights and really break the show down, and in my opinion worth the listen if you like Fringe.
Some interesting interviews over on the AV club, with John Noble and a couple of the producers of Fringe.  Worth a read if you like this show.

What?! That's how they are going to end the season?
What happened to Peter? How could he not exist?
Amazing finale episode, but now we got to wait...

On a side note,
can I also say Emily Meade as Olivia's niece, gosh she's pretty. I've got a new crush. I hope we see more of her next season.
It occurred to me that Fringe especially after this finale has some major similarities to Charlie Jade.

Warning: Charlie Jade spoilers here too.
We have the characters who can jump between universes. And now both the universe are connected, like in the finale of Charlie Jade where the three are connected looking forward to a rough future of diplomacy. And Peter is gone and the Observes are still doing their thing and keeping track of all this stuff, just like Charlie and 01 lost in the unknown universe with the guys who had been watching them the whole show. Huh, storywise I find them very similar. Except of course Charlie Jade we never get to find out what happens next, but Fringe I'm excited to see what will happen next season.
I only watched part of the video as did not want to spoil myself to much, but from what I saw, looks like it is going to be great start. Looks like we are getting the nerdy Lincoln Lee which is cool.

How come I'm just finding out about this now? I didn't even know Fringe was come back already. Thanks for posting or I would have missed it's return completely.

Appears to be now.  That's the lovely Fox network for you - take down that advertising that might bring in more viewers!  Gotta watch them when they first go up.

On a related Fringe note, there's this cool thing too!

Rounding out this week's "Fringe" update, DC Entertanment has announced a new comic book series called "Beyond The Fringe". The first installment — which can be purchased for 99 cents via digital download at read.dccomics.com — was written by Joshua Jackson and drawn by Jorge Jimenez.

Btw, on Hulu & Fox.com, you cannot watch Fringe for 8 days unless your a cable subscriber now.  This to me just tells me that Hulu.com is going to die now.  There are no shows that come on Hulu for at least 7 days and then some.  There are alternative methods that work a heck of a lot faster.  Congrats Hulu....I no longer care who buys the service.
