Fringe- Spoiler alert.

What a great episode last week.  They are really ratcheting up the tension gearing up for the season finale.  The quiet moments with Peter and Olivia were so touching and nicely done, those are some of my favorite scenes right now.  They do a great job making you care about these characters.

Right...which really concerns me! As we all know, whenever the writers of anything start making you care a LOT for a character....BOOM! They die. I sure hope that's not the case here. But Joby, I agree, excellent episode.

Well according to the text preview on my DVR for the finale someone on the team does indeed die in the last episode.  It doesn't say which universe's team but I'm assuming ours. [/spoiler]

[spoiler]I do like that Olivia and Peter are finally really together now - which makes me worry.  One question I have.  Does Walternate think by destroying the alternate universe Earth, that will somehow repair the damage to his Earth??  Or is this just all a revenge thing or can only one universe survive because they seem to be messing each Earth up now?  I'm getting a bit confused by all this.[/spoiler]

Rico, it's probably best not to obsess too much over the details.  My guess is it all has something to do with a mysterious cave and a cork in the ground somewhere near the center of the island.

Here's my guess and it's pure speculation:

[spoiler]Peter and Olivia live, but Fauxlivia dies in the process and leave the baby with Peter and her other self. This will also touch off on some conflict between the Fringe team and the observers who actually want the worlds for themselves.[/spoiler]

[spoiler]I did read on Blastr though that someone we "love" will die, do we really love Fauxlivia? I guess that could have been a red herring statement, but I do like the potential conflict that you raise with that theory. It would put a huge crimp on what the Observers have been planning it would seem. Hmm, can't wait for next Friday! [/spoiler]
Joby, you left out the part about the Light and the fact that Walter will have to protect it now, lest Walternate get off the Island...err, never mind.

I got caught up with my Fringes, I have to say the LSD episode, I totally dug the animation, just fantastic in my opinion, probably a big risk, as you will either like it or hate, but it just blew me away. I was thinking the same way as Joby, that it might have been that Nimoy did not want to act on screen anymore. Also some of the sequences might have been two much for an 80 year old man to perform, and the Zepplin scenes might have been expensive to film. But I think it will be a standout Episode for this season, sort of like how different the episode Black Betty was from last season.

In the last two Episodes, was great to see Sam Wiess in them a lot, though I have to admit I like him as sort of a mysterious Character, so I am feeling that the whole mystery on him as been wiped away now.

[spoiler]I thought how they worked Peter into the machine was great. As earlier in the season, I just could not see him going into the machine, but how all this came to be was great. I was a bit disappointed on the hunt for the Key to turn the machine off, and in the end it was Olivia, but I guess we all knew in the end it was going to be that way.
My predictions on who we might see die is either Broyles or alternate Lincoln Lee, just a hunch. I don't expect Astrid, as I heard an interview with the actress on a Fringe podcast, and the way she was talking she would be back for another season.[/spoiler]

Great episode last Friday.  Only one left for this season.  Thoughts,....(definite spoilers ahead)

[spoiler]So, now Peter is 15 years in the future after going into the machine?!?!  Holy moly!?!?!  So, do we think the show will stay set in the future?  Or, is he really even in the future??  Or is it just something to do with the machine???  Lot's of questions.  Not sure what to think, but I will say this is a great show![/spoiler]

[spoiler] I can't help but feel a little let down. We were all wrong with our guesses about the finale.  Olivia's murder in the future was a bit of a cheat in my opinion. While someone we love did indeed die, that death was meaningless and had no impact on the reality of the show as we know it. That's not to say I'd have preferred someone really died, I just think it was kind of a lame grab for viewers to promote it that way.

Overall I enjoyed the show, and it is pretty cool to see the two universes are going to work together to repair the damages, and hopefully figure out that someone important is missing from their lives. Im kind of disappointed that the show doesnt seem like it will have the chance to continue with the one-off, unrelated to the main storyline episodes that i thought were more interesting than the main plot.  Regardless, it will be a long wait for the next, final season. [/spoiler]

I don't think it was a cheat.

[spoiler] It was the key reason for him to want to risk everything to fix everything. The impact on the show is that it drove Peter to change the past. Also, we lost Peter that episode. He's ceased to exist, I think that qualifies as not making it. I think that turning Ellis Island to the Fringe Division of two worlds will be pretty cool. I just want more at this point.[/spoiler]

Awesome episode.  And I'm with Chris on this one...

[spoiler]The real loss was Peter, not Olivia.  In changing things and saving Olivia he sacrificed himself.  Now they have to work together to fix both worlds.  I love how interesting things have gotten.  Really super episode and John Noble deserves an Emmy (maybe two for both roles).  Loved it![/spoiler]

[spoiler]Well, I thought this episode was amazing! I for one was not let down at all, in fact it made me think a lot about it today. Here's my thought: I don't think things are as simple as they seem to be on the surface. It does look as if Peter erased himself from existence but I offer a different look. Two actually. 1) remember when Peter and Walternate were talking in the cabin and Walternate said to Peter that he came over to this universe on a mission of mercy, that he came over here to help save his world? Well, what if when Walter sent him back into the machine the choice he made WAS the reason that Walternate was here in the future, and that the choice Peter made WAS the reason for the total destruction? 2) at the end when all of the Observers are standing out in front of the Statue of Liberty, what color is the Statue? Are we 100% certain that they weren't in the alternate universe in the future saying that whatever Peter did worked and that he changed the past so that he was never there? All in all, I LOVE this show. And for those who like a good podcast, I found one called the FringeCast (or Fringecasting, not sure) by Wayne Henderson. Pretty good show  [/spoiler]
