Well, I'm glad they did that. Would have been annoyed otherwise...

Btw, there was a story going around that the writers had done two scenes, one for if the series got cancelled and another if they let it continue.

Yeah I saw that story.  Wonder if they'll release the one they won't be using after s05 is over?

Maybe on the special features of the DVD?  Dunno.  Or it might just sit on some shelf somewhere.

Another cool episode this week.  I like it when the teams work together.  But one thing confused me...
At the end when the machine overloaded, why did it send those on one side of the room back to the other universe?  I thought they would have to walk through that bridge area.  Was the room with the machine split in half so each side was in one universe??
No ...
The two machines overlapped when they fused the worlds and one half of the room was in one universe and the other half was in the other. They showed it last season before they converted the room into the whole base thing.
I got caught up on the last two Fringes, really great stuff. Really Happy they get some episodes next year to tie up the story, would have liked a full season, but 13 is better then nothing.
In the Episode in the Future, I liked that we never saw Olivia in it, as it sort of stayed with the theme that in futures she must die. Also it was a nice tie that Peter and Olivias Daughter was called Henrietta.
A little sad to see the Alter Universe go, will that be the last of it? I am guessing since Olivia can cross over that I would have to think they will return to it at some point.

Remind me why the name Henrietta is significant?
Still not understanding something then,....
Yes, I do remember the thing with the room before, but it still doesn't work quite for me.  I mean why do they then pass through that corridor thing when crossing over (with the air, lights, voice,...)?  All they have to do is walk across the machine room??
High security maybe?  The two sides were at war after all.

Yeah, that's probably the reason.
It's a border, so they created a fence and added guards. Given the hostility from both sides, having a secure transition makes sense. You need approval from both sides to cross.
Rico

Ok - that pretty much makes sense.  I guess I just thought crossing over should somehow be more - dramatic.  :)
