I have really only owned a few....I won't count the one or two I owned in Japan cuz they were simply temporary trnasportation.

1st car (and my first car love) was a 1968 Mercury Cyclone.  390 cy 2 barrel, dual exhaust.  I pegged the speedometer at 135 mph when the engine was in dire need of a rebuild.  OH I loved that car.

Now we own boring "family cars" :  A '99 Saturn and a '98 Loser Cruiser...uh I mean....Plymouth Grand Voyager (I kid the minivan it's actually a great vehicle)
I think it was Socrates who spoke the immortal words:  I drank WHAT?

Geekyfanboy

Here's my list...

78 Honda Civic (had in 87) Engine caught fire while driving to school
81 Honda Civic (had in 88) Crank shaft broke in half, only could drive in 1st gear.
82 Chevy Chevette (89 - 92) Traded in for CRX
89 Honda CRX (92 - 96) I loved this car.. Traded in for Prelude
93 Honda Prelude (96 - 99) Exchanged with mother for her Prelude (better condition)
94 Honda Prelude (99 - 06) Cost to much to repair.. not worth it.
99 Jeep Wrangler (06 - Present)

Bryancd

'80 Jeep Renegade
'84 VW Rabbit GTI
'87 VW Golf GTI 16V
'90 VW Corrado G60
'93 VW Corrado SLC V6
'01 Audit TT Quattro
'91 Jeep Wrangler
'99 Jeep Wrangler Sport with 4 inch lift, 33' tires

Loved my GTI's but that V6 Corrado was awesome. Had my $$$ sports car with the TT...realized later cars don't make the man and bought an old Jeep, discovered the joys of off roading and I am now a Jeep man for life!

OK, here it goes:

1977 baby crap yellow Subaru four banger that I owned in high school... the wheel once fell off at a stop sign. It didn't have a lock on the trunk, used to use my finger to pop it open. My sister refused to be seen with me in it, she used to duck when we passed her friends. So I would rev it up when I dropped her off at school, to make it backfire. Don't feel bad for her, she deserved it.  It used to die on me a lot. Keeping it running while sitting at a light on a hill was always a trick. Because I embarrassed her by making it backfire, my little sister would "jet" when it died. I had to push it down the street by myself. I'd have to get it rolling, push the clutch in while the key was on, throw it in first and "pop the clutch". This would start the engine and I'd have to keep it rolling or it would die again. I learned to jump batteries, change tires and pop the clutch on a standard by driving the "Subardoo" as we called it.

1979 Monte Calro 8 cylinder car that my grandfather gave me for my high school graduation gift. It was the first car I owned with air conditioning. It also had a 8 track player...though we were in the age of CDs I dug through my parents old stash of 8 tracks and found a good Bee Gees tape. The transmission used to stick on me, but when it got warmed up it would haul. Someone broad-sided me in an intersection and totaled the car by bending the frame and dropping the drive shaft.

1975 Chevy Custom Deluxe pickup truck. The engine locked up on me on the highway... one of the pistons was the wrong size thanks to the person who owned it before me. I sold it for $500 as is, and used that money as a down payment on a 1993 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme. That car lasted 6 years, until I sold it because a plume of smoke rose from the steering wheel. The speedometer was digital and didn't always work. Dave would ask me if I knew how fast I was going. I'd tell him and a moment later the speedometer would flash the same exact speed. That always amazed him.

1980 Mazda pickup I named the "Hoopie". It had a bumper sticker on the back that said "I do what the voices in my head tell me to". I drove it without an inspection sticker the entire time I owned it (3 years) and never got a ticket. My tactic was to chant "don't look at me, don't look at me, don't look at me" when a cop would pass. Guess they never looked at me.  I sold it to a Mexican national who saw me drive it into my driveway. He asked me if I wanted to sell it... We sold it on the spot.... it's lives "south of the boarder down Mexico way", now.

I rode a bike to work until I won a 2004, dragon red, Vespa ET2 that I drove to work...rain, sleet or snow for two years. I named her "Velma".  I LOVED that scooter. I was known around town as "Vespa girl". Everyone would wave at me when I rode.

I purchased a 1975 MGB, rubber bumper, roadster convertible that I still own. It's being refurbished now. Planning to paint it red. It's a year younger than I am and it's considered a "classic". Hummm.... What does that say about me?!

I currently drive a 2000 Mercury Mountaineer. Its a good vehicle, but I would rather drive my roadster. I feel much better behind the wheel of a little sports car. ;)

Well, just like jobs, I have had very few cars compared to you guys.

1994 Pontiac Sunbird LE (we called it the Sunchicken)
2003 Volkswagen Jetta 1.8T

That is all. Man, does being 27 make a guy a kid around here? I feel like I haven't LIVED!

I still have my first car, and i've only had that for just two years (and i'm 34). You see i never needed a car, public transport did the job. My work place was biking distance, my main city centre was 20 mins on the bus ot 10 mins by train, my friend all lived locally so there was no need for a car. Then i moved out of Birmingham to Bromsgrove and boom suddenly needed a car. I've had a licence since i was 18 but never drove. Picked it back up straight away.
So my first and at present only car is a 1996 Ford Escort 1.6 litre Ztec engine. It's white, it has a spoiler and rust on the drivers side back wheel arch. The boot (trunk) lock doesn't work and sometimes the inside electric switch won't open it it will turn the fog lights on instead. My dream car would be a 1976 monaco didge sudan (blues brithers) or a 1969 dodge charger, or a audi R8 which truley is amazing.

Here ya go in this order..

1992 Ford Probe
1990 Chevy Camaro Z28
1984 Chevy Corvette
1999 Mercury Cougar
2004 Nissan Xterra SE
1992 Ford Mustang GT Vert
Ripley: Ash. Any suggestions from you or Mother?
Ash: No, we're still collating.
Ripley: [Laughing in disbelief] You're what? You're still collating? I find that hard to believe.

Here are pics of my last three cars. First up, the 2001 Audi TT. Great, fun, amazing design, beautiful interior, I took this car to the track a few times for some hot laps!  :metallica:
Then came my divorce and a shifting of priorities in 2003. I sold the TT to a kid from Scottsdale AZ of all places. He flew across the country to Fairfield CT where I was living and drove the car back with a buddy. Now that I live here too, whenever I see a TT I wonder if it's my old one. So I went from a $45,000 Audi to a $1500 '91 Jeep Wrangler 4 cyl.....and I was set free. The "stuff" would never own me again.  :thumbsup
Once I moved out to Arizona, it was time for some serious off road firepower. '99 Jeep Wrangler Sport 6 cyl with 4 inch lift, 33" tires, Dana 44 rear axle, limited slip differential, everything I need to conquer the slick rocks of Moab or the dusty roads of Monument Valley where this pic was taken. I drive this everyday, top down even during the 110 degree AZ summer. I park at my company surrounded by my colleagues BMW, Porsche, Mercedes, Rang Rovers....and I am still free.  :cheers
