I'm trying to figure out how to take moon pics.  Pretty crazy.

I'm sure it will get better after I do some reading.  My goal is to be able to take some star pics too.

Amazing image!  What kind of set-up did you use?  Special lens or tripod?

I was pretty blown away last night when my family presented me with my Father's day gift.

Well, it's actually on it's way.  :)

As many of you know I love to take pictures, and up till now I have had to borrow the cool camera that I take them with.  I don't really take it out of town or anything, cause it belongs to work.  Well.... with the little bonus I got for ten years on staff and my kids and wife chipping in... I ordered this kit last night.

This is a really big deal for me, and I am just about as blown away with this as I was when I got an ipod a couple of years ago!  SWEET!  Now, watch out, I may be a postaholic pretty soon.

I am so excited!  I am already planning some photo trips and researching how to take pictures of the night sky!

It should be here by Wednesday next week.

Do I sound excited?  :)   :taz

That is indeed a sweet kit you have there!!!   :) :thumbsup

On this particular shoot I used a tripod and had the auto timer count down so I didn't shake the camera at all.  I set it on 100 iso and let it saturate for about 30 seconds.  I tried a million different ways, but finally it worked.  Most of the time I got a glowing white ball. :)

A cable release is a good way to take pictures without shaking the camera.  I used to use one when I was in film school, and doing stop motion animation.  It is also great when taking pictures of items you wish to put into photoshop or painting programs. ;)

Yeah, on this one I think there is a wireless remote I can get.  I'll check it out on ebay.

Rick your pictures are amazing...

Thanks Kenny.  You guys and gals are the only folks I really share them with, other than myspace pics.   I do use a lot of them on backgrounds at the church projector.  People don't realize they are mine, but that is ok.  I'm glad some people like them.
